I was found as a stray in the Wellsville area and I was never claimed by my owner. I am a very sweet, playful boy. I have done well with the other dogs I've met here at the pound and I like to play. I am very clean in my kennel and I appear to be housebroken. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. I was found as a stray in the East Palestine area and I was taken in to the Police Department, then picked up by the pound. I was microchipped and apparently I lived in Florida!! Despite my microchip being updated just a couple of days before I was brought into the pound, the pound has not been able to contact my previous owner, so I am now looking for a new, loving family to join. I am a very sweet boy. I have been great around all of the people I've met. I have met some of the other dogs here and I've done well with them as long as they're nice to me. I don't like being bullied and pushed around, but I'm good with dogs that are social and friendly. I do a great job keeping my kennel clean and I appear to have been a house dog before making my way into the pound. I was surrendered to the pound, along with my friends Lilly and Piper, through no fault of our own. I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very, very sweet girl. I have the typical, happy lab temperament. I love people and would be happy to get attention for hours, but I will also just go do my own thing if my people are busy. If my people are not busy, however, I would like them to spend a substantial amount of their "me" time playing ball with me! I don't care if you're throwing it far and I'm chasing it and bringing it back or if I'm sitting right next to you and you throw it in my mouth and then take it and throw it again and we do it over and over and over! Ball is my favorite! I lived with 2 other dogs in my previous home and I have met dogs of all sizes and ages here at the pound and I've done great with all of them. I will likely need work with my potty training as my living situation hasn't been the best for a little while. I do a great job of keeping my kennel clean here at the pound, so crate training would be a helpful tool if there are issues. I had absolutely horrendous ear infections when I came in that had gone untreated. When I went to the vet, they sent out cultures so the pound could make sure I was being properly treated. I was on oral antibiotics and a steroid taper for the first round of treatments. I did see a vet again and he thinks I may have allergy issues which probably contributed to chronic ear issues because they weren't treated prior to me coming into the pound. I will need a new family that is financially able to take on my ear problems as I will need continued treatment. The vet does feel that my ears are manageable with treatment as opposed to me needing surgery, however, I will need continued care, likely for the rest of my life. Some stories are hard to tell because they just arent fair and CONNORs is one of them. CONNOR is a 5 year old Black Lab mix whose entire world turned upside down through no fault of his own. When a long term relationship came to an end, this boy was left without a place to call home. While the humans sort through the heartbreak, CONNOR is left to wonder why hes losing the person he loves best. He doesnt understand broken relationships, but hes learned what a broken heart feels like. He needs to know someone will love him again the way his mom did. CONNOR is the kind of dog that makes life brighter and fun. At 72 lbs, hes built like a Big Ten linebacker, but has the heart of a teddy bear. Hes strong, energetic, and always ready for an adventure, yet hes also a gentleman on a leash and knows his basic commands. In other words, hes the total package in an oversized edition. CONNOR enjoys kids, but because of his size and enthusiasm, hed probably do best with bigger kids who wont accidentally become bowling pins. CONNOR is quite fond of felines and enjoys their company. He likes laid back female dogs who wont boss him around and tell him what to do. He can get along with other male dogs if theyre neutered and not into macho drama.
