Story
Piper is a beautiful lab-shepherd-greyhound mix who is 9 years old. She is incredibly, sweet, well trained, and loves people and cuddles. Her favourite pastime is curling up into her signature donut shape and leaning into you while you watch tv, have a nap, or lay in the sun. Piper’s favourite game is playing hide and seek with treats; she waits in the other room while we hide treats around the house and then she will excitedly and with determination root them all out. She loves to go on long slow walks where she will smell every last thing. Her favourite snacks are cucumber slices and she can hear a cucumber being cut open from rooms away. Piper is loyal, silly and, just wants to be where the people are. Piper's ideal home would be an adult only home without other animals.   Name: Piper Breed: Mixed breed Labrador and Greyhound Weight: 70 pounds Gender: female Spayed/neutered: spayed Age: 9 years Obtained From: Rehomed from another home at about 1 year old. Reason for Intake: Piper is not comfortable around toddlers  Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with dogs: She is reactive to other dogs on leash closer than 15-20 feet.  She has had very little experience with dogs in the past 5-6 years.  When they first got her she did go to the dog park but was attacked there. Good with cats: Unknown but they think she has a high prey drive. Good with kids: She has very little experience with children.  They cottaged for 3 days with children under 10 years old and after about 24 hours she seemed to become more concerned with them and started barking and reacting to them especially when her owners were engaged with the kids.   Good with strangers: Yes.  Good with adult visitors.  If a stranger comes to visit she will bark at the door knock and then run up and greet them and be excited to see them. Resource guarding issues: Not from people.  Unknown with other animals. Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears: young children Housetrained: Yes.  She is used to living in an apartment and peeing and pooping on leash walks. Crate trained: She has not been crated since they initially got her 7-8 years ago. Good in the car: She is anxious in the car and paces and whines.  She has had motion sickness in the past on longer trips. Bark when left alone: No.  She has been left alone while they worked full-time.  They live in an apartment and have not had noise complaints. Destructive: No Energy Level: Medium Leash skills: She walks well on leash.  After training, she is reactive to dogs closer than about 20 feet.  They typically cross the street when they see other dogs and they do not meet other dogs on walks.  She does not show concern with people, vehicles, etc. on walks. Okay with physical handling/manipulations: Yes.  They can bathe her, brush her, and trim her nails.  She is professionally groomed every couple of months and is good at the groomer.  She is fine being handled at the vet.  She has been boarded by Rover providers and done well in those homes. Behavioural issues: She is reactive to other dogs on leash closer than about 20 feet now.  She has shown similar reactive behaviour with young children when staying with them. Lena is a gentle, affectionate female Lab mix. She is 3 - 4 years old and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Lena gets along well with other dogs, especially males, and is indifferent to cats. She is incredibly friendly with people and walks beautifully on a leash. She was found alone in a neighborhood and was never claimed. But she has a tender heart and is a gentle soul. Lena is very loving with those who cared for her in the shelter and with her foster. Once she trusts you, she is a wonderful companion who enjoys cuddles and will follow you around curious to see what you are up to. She is health, spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Lena would thrive in a home with friendly dogs and humans who will shower her with love and attention. Story
Brown is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet! His enthusiasm is contagious, and he finds pure joy in just about everything—walks, treats, belly rubs, and all the love he can get. With his high energy, Brown is looking for an active family who can provide plenty of exercise and ongoing training to keep him engaged and happy. He’s wonderful with people, including children, but his excitement can make him a bit jumpy, so a home without very small kids would be best. Brown is currently being assessed for his interactions with other dogs. He’s doing well with female dogs but will need slow and careful introductions to ensure positive relationships with other canine companions. Resilient and full of spirit, Brown has overcome a lot. He was transferred to us from another shelter, where he was rescued from a neglect and cruelty situation. Shortly after arriving, Brown was diagnosed with leishmaniasis, a disease transmitted by sand fly that requires daily medication and routine blood and urine testing. He also tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Ehrlichia and Anaplasma, both of which have been successfully treated, though his blood values still need regular monitoring. Despite these challenges, Brown’s vibrant personality hasn’t wavered. He was recently diagnosed with pemphigus foliaceus, an immune disorder affecting his skin, but with treatment of a low-dose steroid, he’s doing well. Is Brown the loving, resilient companion you’ve been waiting for? His medical needs don’t slow him down, and they shouldn't slow you down from welcoming this wonderful boy into your home!

Story
Timon is a German Pointer mix with a sharp mind and a deep devotion to his people. This intelligent boy thrives in a structured environment where he can put his skills to good use—whether it's playing a game of fetch, learning new commands, or simply being by your side. While Timon is incredibly loyal to those he trusts, he needs time and patience when meeting new people. Slow, muzzled introductions are essential to help him feel safe and build positive associations. He also has some resource-guarding tendencies, so he’ll need an experienced adopter who understands how to manage and work through this behavior with consistency and confidence. Because of his breed and personality, Timon will do best in a home familiar with working breeds—one that can provide both mental and physical enrichment. With the right guidance, he will make an incredible companion for someone who respects his boundaries and is committed to continuing his training. Timon isn’t the kind of dog for everyone, but for the right person, he will be an unshakable, devoted companion. If you have experience with dogs like him and are looking for a smart, loving partner, Timon is ready to meet you!
