Meet Gordo! A 4 year old Maltese and Poodle mix pup. This sweet little guy is friendly with people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He enjoys meeting new friends and is happiest when he has company, whether it is human or canine. Gordo loves the simple joys in life. He enjoys a good walk and spending time outside exploring the world. He also enjoys playtime with toys, romping around with other dogs, and going along for car rides. If treats are involved, he is extra motivated and enjoys learning new things, which makes training a fun experience for both him and his people. He is still perfecting his potty training, so he will do best with a patient family who can help him stay on a good routine. Gordo is also a bit of an escape artist and will happily dash out an open door if given the chance, so a watchful home that keeps doors secure will help keep this curious little explorer safe. Gordo is a lovable, playful companion who is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of outdoor adventures to his new home. With a little guidance and a lot of love, this sweet boy will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Gordo is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/21/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. Meet Lobu! Lobu is a sweet, silly girl who came to us from a local shelter partner along with her eight adorable puppies. She has been an absolutely amazing mama and is just about finished raising her babies. Now it’s finally her turn to be spoiled and loved! Lobu would thrive in a home where she can cuddle on the couch, go for relaxing walks, and be treated like the princess she is. She’s both crate trained and potty trained, and she’ll politely let you know she needs to go outside with a couple of quick barks. She loves playtime—especially squeaky toys and good chew toys. They’re her favorites so far! She’s a wonderful size for just about any living situation, whether that’s an apartment or a house. While a fenced yard isn’t required, she would certainly enjoy having one. Because she’s been such a devoted mama, Lobu may need a little patience as she adjusts to being away from her puppies. She doesn’t love being separated from them, but everyone is ready to find their own forever families. With time, reassurance, and love, she will blossom. Lobu seems most comfortable with women but has done just fine with her foster dad. She hasn’t yet been around children, so that is still unknown. Hi, I’m Mila. I’m a quiet girl with a gentle heart. The world is still a little new and overwhelming for me. I came from a puppy mill, so I didn’t grow up learning how to be a regular dog. I’m very shy, but I promise — I’m never aggressive. I just need a little time to feel safe. Right now, I’m more of an “Aloof Admirer.” I like to hang out nearby and watch what’s going on. I’m curious… I’m just still figuring humans out. The good news? I’m making really nice progress. I'm pretty low energy and I’m happiest in a calm environment. I don’t play much yet, and I’m very quiet. I eat breakfast and dinner like clockwork (routine makes me feel safe), and I love food — treats are the fastest way to my heart. I’m crate trained and still learning the basics of home life. I do well with other dogs, and having a confident dog friend might help me keep building my courage. What I really need is a patient family. Someone who understands that healing takes time. Someone who will celebrate the little wins — like when I take a step closer, or choose to stay nearby instead of hiding.
