Story
Hey! My name is Stray Charles. I am incredibly sweet and affectionate, especially with the ladies. I like to show off my silky, soft hair and I don’t shed very much, so I know how much they will love me! I am more selective about men. Some are fine, while others might see my protective side. Currently I have a few things I’m working on. I’m starting to figure out house training and I go stand at the door when I need to go potty. It takes me a while to warm up to new people so I need a family that is willing to be patient with me and I would probably do better in a quiet home without children. I am an incredibly talented jumper so I need a home with a tall fence or to be on a tie out. This is also one of my strengths because I would do great on an outdoor adventute and obstacles wont slow me down! I’m very good in my kennel when my foster mom is out but at night I need to sleep in bed with you and I promise I will lie peacefully through the night next to you or at the end of the bed. I haven’t met any cats yet but I absolutely love every dog I meet. I’m very playful and I share my treats and bones nicely. If you are looking for a loyal side kick then I’m the little guy you are looking for. ##2002461##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Jean, and I'm a timid and loving 6-year-old female Maltese Mix with a lot of love to give. I weigh around 13 lbs, making me the perfect size for snuggles and playtime. Let me tell you a bit about myself! I absolutely love being outside and running around in a fenced yard. Toys of all kinds are my favorite, and you'll often find me playing with them happily. When I'm not playing, I enjoy relaxing and soaking up some sun. I can be a little shy, especially when there is overwhelming commotion or with quick motions, but once I feel comfortable, I open up and show my sweet and loving personality. I'm potty trained using both a potty pad and go outside, I will need a little more practice in my forever home to stay on a routine. I'm also crate trained and know the command for "kennel/crate" as well as a command for "outside." While I enjoy my crate, I do prefer being out and about with my humans. A fenced yard is essential for me because I'm not leash trained and can be fearful of new things, making me a flight risk. I don't need to be placed in a home with another dog, but I do love human company and would thrive in a home where my people are around most of the time. I only bark when I'm alarmed, so I'm generally a quiet companion. I'm very sweet and loving, and with a bit of patience and understanding, I blossom into a wonderful, loyal friend. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate companion who will bring joy and love to your home, I'm your girl! Love,  Jean *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, my name is Calvin and I spent my early years not in any sort of inside, family-style living so this is all new to me.  So forgive me if I am a little skittish or nervous occasionally.  Especially when we first meet.  I do the same thing when outside of the environment I’ve grown accustomed to but I’m working on that and would do best with a home that will be patient and understanding.  I admit, I’ve growled at people when my stress level is over the top for me but I haven’t ever snapped or bitten anyone. But for now, maybe a home without small kids would be better as commotion, loud noises and men seem to make me more tense. I don’t have too much desire to play right now as I’m still trying to get accustomed to life in a loving environment.  I’m low key but I ventured out a bit this week and actually played with a toy!  Hold your applause! I don’t really have a fur bestie so I can be an only pet if you’re home most of the day.  Why, you ask?? Well, I tend to have lots of conversation with people and like to voice my complaints to the peanut gallery often (bark bark).  I am crate trained but that darn potty thing is a bit trickier.  However, when you keep me on a good schedule, I feel I’m close to making it happen! I don’t require a fenced yard either, as I’m working on my leash skills.  Granted, it’s got more work to be had but we can do it!  I have put my noodles together and with lots of practice, I know “sit, come, kennel, outside and go potty!” I’m food motivated which is why my noodles are functional. Don’t think you’ve missing what you want to know.  I wanted to wait to tell you but this kid right here loves to cuddle!  I’m super sweet (with a bit of sauce).  Once I know you’re one of the good ones, I am always happy to see you know will run right up to you looking for pets and loving!  So, what are you waiting for?!  Let’s get this loving on the road!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Kalamata, but my foster mama calls me Kal.  I'm a tiny little guy at just 3 pounds.  The world is a big place and a little scary so I have figured out how to protect myself.  I stand behind things or among things like there's a little wall of protection.  I think I'll stop doing this with a little time though because I'm quickly becoming more confident.  In fact I sass my foster mama when in my spots while my tail wags and I do my little excited dance.  She smiles at me and then picks me up and I sit on her lap while we watch TV and I watch the other dogs play.  I do just fine with them all and would love one in my future home that can help me continue to gain confidence.  After a bit I cuddle into my fosters mama's neck and will nap since I know she's there to keep me safe.  I do also like my kennel because it's another safe spot.  I'm just getting brave enough that I'm leaving it all by myself now.  While mom waits for me to gather my courage I talk to her and boop her hand so she'll pet me.  Neck and chin scratches are heavenly! Since I'm such a petite little guy it would be safer for me to be in a home without little kids.  The fast movements and noises would be scary for me, but I'd also be scared that I'd get stepped on.  I'm not quite ready to try out this leash thing I've heard about so I do need a fenced area to do my business.  I'm sure I'll be ready to conquer it soon, but today isn't that day.  I'm making big steps every day in my foster home and I hope that you will help my continue on my journey.  I promise to light up your world with my love.
