Story
Meet little Oliver! He is a 7+ year old, pocket sized maltese mix. Oliver weighs in at a mere 9 pounds! What he lacks in size, he makes up for in love and personality. Oliver started out very timid and skittish for the first few days in his foster home. Once he got comfortable with the lay of the land, he settled right in. Oliver loves snoozing the day away in his comfy bed. He eagerly wakes up for important things like lunch and pottying outside. He is pretty much potty trained, as long as he is let out regularly. If he doesn't go out often enough, he will eventually go potty inside. Once outside, Oliver loves to explore the yard. He trots around checking things out and doing his business. Oliver barks on occasion but is not overly vocal. He most often speaks up when a dog is walking by or when he is excited and really wants your attention. Oliver had extensive dental issues when he arrived in the rescue. This led to all of his teeth being removed so he is now part gummy bear! While the vet said he may be able to resume eating kibble, he is perfectly happy eating canned, wet food. Oliver sleeps in bed with his foster parents at night. They tried putting him in his kennel one night, but he wasn't a fan of that so now he just settles right into their bed and sleeps through the night. Oliver does great with other dogs and children. He is very gentle and snuggly. Because he is so short, he uses stairs to get up on the couch. He uses a couple of steps to get out to the yard but has not attempted a full set of stairs yet. He is a little nervous in the car but does well, overall, mostly just needs a little reassurance from his humans. Oliver does well on a leash but does not seem to like to go potty while leashed. He will hold it until he gets back home. If you need a little extra love in your life, Oliver is your man! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Older/considerate kids will be best Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Does well free roam of the home REQUIREMENT: Fence yard + companion dog Adoption fee: $495 Hi, I’m Milo! I’m a 6-year-old, 18-pound professional fetch enthusiast looking for my forever family. If you’ve got a ball, we’re already best friends. Seriously… I could play fetch for hours, so a Chuckit launcher might just become your new favorite purchase. 😆 When I’m not chasing tennis balls, you’ll find me riding shotgun on car adventures, exploring the yard, or keeping an eye on the neighborhood happenings. I like to stay involved in everything you’re doing and am always ready for the next activity. A few things about me: • Potty trained • Free-roam trustworthy in the home • Dog friendly (I do require another small, confident dog in the home) • Cat friendly • Good with older, respectful kids • Vocal at times, so a home without shared walls is best My ideal home has a fenced yard where I can stretch my legs, play fetch, and burn off some energy. I thrive with active humans who enjoy getting outside and having fun. If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky sidekick who will keep you laughing and make every day a little more exciting, I just might be your guy.

Story
Hello my name is Chai, I'm from Minnesota! One of the tricks I have is balancing on my hind legs! She knows how to sit as well, but that's boring! Loves to play with her toys Prefers to sleep in the bed with you but is okay in the kennel overnight. She just snuggles up in a little ball! It is the cutest thing. She can be a bit shy and nervous around other dogs (don't quite know about cats) but she may do best as the only pet or just needs slow and gentle introductions.

Story
About Me Meet Princesa, a sweet, snuggly girl who’s ready to find her forever family! This lovable cutie is happiest when she’s curled up next to you, soaking up belly rubs or playing with her favorite squeaky toys and tennis balls. She starts her day with a morning walk, enjoys breakfast, and then settles in for some toy time and naps. In the afternoons, she loves playing with kids and joining in on family fun. Princesa is leash, crate, and potty trained, making her an easy addition to your routine. She’s got a moderate energy level—she enjoys daily walks and even a jog, but she’s just as content lounging on the couch with her people. She’s friendly with children and thrives in a family setting. While she’s working on being more comfortable around other dogs and can be protective when strangers approach the house, her foster family is helping her build confidence. Princesa does need to be kept on a leash outdoors, as she’s curious and quick to explore, and she’s a bit of a scavenger, so keeping an eye on her during walks is important. f you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your days with cuddles and joy, Princesa might be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring love and laughter into your home—apply to meet her today!   WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota.  Foster Home Pets: Meet & greets are scheduled after an approved adoption application Cats at The PURRfect Match Adoption Center (Andover, MN): Some cats may be available to meet during open hours Please visit our website for the most accurate information on this pet and next steps. Story
About Me Hi, I’m Anthony — professional cuddler, full-time shadow, part-time neighborhood watch, and your future best friend. I’ll be honest right away: I don’t really believe in “personal space.” If you’re sitting down, I’d like to be touching you. If you’re walking around, I’ll be following you. If you’re heading out on an adventure, I’m already ready to go. I’m learning that being a few feet away from my human is survivable, but I definitely prefer the “together at all times” lifestyle. I’m currently living with multiple small dogs and doing well with them. I seem to especially like female dogs and calmer older male dogs. Even though I enjoy other pups, humans are really my favorite thing in the world. I’m looking for someone I can truly bond with — your loyal sidekick, road trip buddy, tiny-house roommate, and emotional support shadow all rolled into one. My day usually starts with me hurrying outside for my potty break the second I wake up. I’m leash trained and mostly potty trained, though I’m still polishing up my indoor manners. I’ve done some marking inside before, but I’m learning that humans apparently don’t appreciate surprise decorating. Since I’m newly neutered, everyone expects that to keep improving as my hormones settle down. I’m also okay with wearing a belly band or using a potty pad if my new family prefers. When my people leave for work, I may sing a short song about how much I’ll miss them. After that, I usually redirect myself to snacks, toys, naps, or hanging out with the other dogs until everyone comes home. Then it’s straight back outside for another potty break before I resume my very important duties of following the humans around the house. I’d describe my energy level as moderate. I enjoy daily activity and adventures, but I’m equally happy winding down with some quiet evening cuddle time before bed. Chew toys are one of my favorite things, and I’ll never say no to treats — especially baby carrots, apple slices, or dog-friendly peanut butter. I should probably mention my funniest habit: sometimes I pass gas, let out a dramatic little sigh, and then act completely shocked that such a smell could possibly exist. I’m innocent until proven guilty. I also take my guard dog responsibilities seriously. I’ll alert you if I hear a new sound, if someone is approaching, or if you dare come home without immediately greeting me properly. Because I can be vocal when excited, I’m unfortunately not a great fit for apartments or homes with shared walls right now. Before rescue, I came from a local impound where I arrived underweight and badly matted. A fresh shave and regular meals helped me feel like myself again, and now my weight is healthy and stable. At the end of the day, I’m happiest when I’m simply with my person. Whether it’s a house, a camper van, a tiny home, or a couch with enough room for two, I’m ready to be your loyal little wingman through all of life’s adventures. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Gary is an 18‑pound gentleman of distinguished age who has fully committed to the art of relaxation. He is, without question, the King of Sleeping. If napping were an Olympic sport, Gary would bring home the gold, the silver, and probably a commemorative snack. When he’s awake, he transforms into a slow‑moving shadow who follows his human around with the dedication of a very mellow bodyguard. He loves short strolls outside where he can sniff the neighborhood news, feel the breeze, and pretend he’s still a spry young lad. Then he returns inside to resume his royal duties: couch snuggling, belly‑rub requesting, and gentle snoring. Gary has a few special senior quirks—he’s partially blind, partially deaf, a little wobbly, and needs eye drops and daily pain meds. Stairs are not his thing, but being carried like the tiny prince he is suits him just fine. He’s working on potty training and does well on a schedule, especially since he sleeps through the night like a champion. He’s friendly with everyone, polite with dogs, and happiest in a calm home where he can nap in peace and enjoy his favorite hobby: eating treats. All treats. Any treats. Every treat. Gary is a gentle, affectionate, easygoing old soul who just wants a soft place to land, a cozy lap to snooze on, and someone who appreciates the simple joys in life—like snacks, sunshine, and long, luxurious naps. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
