Coconut(Coco) is a 8 yo Maltese weighing 8 lbs that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. Coco is learning what it means to live in a home - steps, new noises, doors, touch, TV’s, leashes etc. Coco had to have her remaining teeth removed due to decay but has no trouble eating soft food. She has a great appetite. She is learning to go potty outside, walk around the neighborhood on a leash, enjoying good soft food and exploring the yard. She loves liverwurst, chicken and beef hot dogs so she will come and take from my hand and if the refrigerator door opens, she runs over just in check it’s something for her. She is good in the crate but I do take her out on a regular schedule to potty train. She knows “go potty”. We are working on a dry crate through the night and doing really well with that. She will need another calm dog in the home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. I do have a fenced yard and stays near me; but without a fence, she will need to be on a leash to be safe. If you are willing to understand it will take time, lots of patience, moving slowly, regular routines, it will be worth it. Mill dogs make the best pets ever who will bond with you forever. Her fur is growing in as she came in shaved. The brown is from licking with a mouth full of bacteria caused by her decaying teeth. We have removed those teeth and with good food and regular grooming, her looks will blossom. Coconut is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK MEET DEXTER the MALTI-CHON-POO North New Jersey Dexter is an 18lb 10 yo Maltese-Bichon-Poodle and the sweetest little dude. Dexter was loved his whole life but unfortunately his elderly owner could no longer care for him. He is loving, gentle, and quiet and would be a wonderful companion for someone who is retired or works from home and wants a buddy to hang out with. Dexter loves to nap and EAT and enjoys meandering around the yard sniffing all the smells. In his former home he didn’t have a yard so he is accustomed to going for walks. He lived with another small breed dog in his former home and currently in his foster home and doesn’t have much interest in them. He very much prefers his human but he is pretty independent as well. He is just an all-around easy going guy that is just happy to have a soft bed and yummy food with some pets and loving in between. Dexter is not a fussy eater but his tummy was a bit of figuring out. He landed on a basic kibble and has been regular since. He was brought UTD, HW negative, had a dental and cherry eye removal (it won’t come back), full blood work and xrays, he is neutered, and he is housebroken for outside but he will use potty pads if available. He is a loving little guy that deserves his special person for the holidays.
