Macy is small enough to fit in the crook of your arm, but her story feels much bigger than she is. She arrived at the shelter trembling, her snowy fur fluffed up like a tiny cloud trying to make itself look brave. Macy had always been a nervous little Maltese, the kind who tiptoes instead of trots and watches the world with wide, wondering eyes. Her whole life had been quiet and predictable — soft blankets, gentle routines, and the steady presence of the person she loved most. But everything changed the day her owner was rushed to the hospital after a sudden accident. Macy didn’t understand the flashing lights or the hurried voices. She only understood that her person didn’t come home. Now she waits. At first, she curled into the smallest ball she could manage, unsure of the new smells and new faces. But slowly, the shelter staff discovered the truth about Macy: beneath her trembling exterior is a heart that wants so badly to trust again. She leans in when someone speaks softly. She relaxes when held close. She watches the door, hoping the next person who walks through might be hers. Macy isn’t the kind of dog who bursts into a room. She’s the kind who blossoms quietly, one gentle moment at a time. What she needs now is a patient, loving home — someone who will show her that even though her world changed, love can still find her. Someone dumped this bonded pair of gals severely matted and full of fleas. They are very happy now that they have been groomed. They are in a foster home with another foo foo dog. They are kinda shy and timid at first but bond to people. They are crate trained and leash trained. They use a doggie door to go into back yard that is securely fenced. They love hanging out with people and on the furniture. This bonded pair will require a securely fenced yard and frequent grooming. San Antonio area has over 800,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Fully blind in one eye due to cataracts. Experiences coughing when temperatures drop, requiring steroid medication if coughing occurs. Has partial hearing loss. All teeth except molars have been extracted, so he cannot eat hard treats. 2. Rescue Story • Noah was rescued from a breeding facility alongside Aji and Aki before Adogs officially formed. He was adopted, but after his adopter passed away suddenly in September 2024, Noah returned to Adogs. He is looking for a family to help him overcome his grief and begin a new chapter of life. 3. Personality & Habits • With People: Very affectionate and sweet, loves both strangers and familiar people, and often approaches first asking for pets. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs, both familiar and new friends. May show cute jealousy if another dog gets attention. • Separation Anxiety: Calm when left with Aki, though Aki has separation anxiety that affects Noah. If left with another dog or person, he waits quietly. • House Training: Fully pee pad trained (100% accuracy), though he prefers pooping outdoors. He tends to pee near the edge of the pad, so surrounding it with a fence or holder is helpful. • Hygiene/Grooming: Very calm and well-behaved during baths, drying, and brushing. • Walking on Leash: Walks well on a leash without pulling and keeps pace nicely. 4. Special Notes • May bark briefly when a stranger enters the room for the first time. In the evenings, he may bark for 5 minutes normally, or 20–30 minutes if he has extra energy. • Has a strong food drive and eats quickly when excited for meals, so feeding slowly and calmly is recommended.

Rita is an adorable, friendly, spunky little 7lb bundle of joy! She gets along with anyone and everyone. She loves to give kisses and be as close to her humans as possible at all times! She is pretty high energy and would do best with a young, active owner commited to getting this girl exercise and socialization. She would not do well at home alone all day while her owner is at work, for example. Rita is located in Houston TX and will not be transported until she is adopted. The adopter is responsible for paying for her transport in addition to the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $850. Story

Sailor is such a sweet little girl and perfect in every way. She is still quite scared and still shivers sometimes, but she is also brave and curious. In the beginning she finally drank some water and started to eat a few bites of soft food. She's was still trying to process this huge change in her life and was kind of frozen. She would stay still in one spot until she was moved. She didn't get up to pee, drink water or do anything. Day, she is eating more food and she is exposing her new environment. She even barked for the first time! She has been going potty outside and even to explore outside, sniffing everything. She had a play date with two Maltese dogs. She did get up to check them out and was friendly. Every day she takes small steps eating more food, drinking water, relieving herself and exploring. He curiosity is showing more every day. She is putting lots of energy into trying new things and becoming less shy. -----  A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:  ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.  ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).  ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.  The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.  Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.  Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
