Story
Phoebe had always been a little sunbeam of a dog — the kind who wagged her whole body, not just her tail, and greeted every person like they were the best thing that had ever happened to her. She started her journey in rescue, a tiny white pup with bright eyes and a heart that trusted easily. When her first family adopted her, everyone at the shelter cheered. Phoebe trotted out the door with her new people, her ears bouncing, her future wide open. For three beautiful years, she lived a good life. She learned the sound of her family’s laughter, the rhythm of their footsteps, and the comfort of curling up on the couch after a long day. She was loved — truly loved. But life changed. Her family had to move far away, somewhere they couldn’t take Phoebe. And so, with tearful goodbyes and promises that she would find another wonderful home, Phoebe returned to the rescue she once left behind. At first, she didn’t understand. She waited by the door. She perked up at every familiar sound. But slowly, she realized she wasn’t being left — she was being given another chance. Now, Phoebe greets each new visitor with hopeful eyes and her signature full‑body wiggle. She’s older, wiser, and still overflowing with love. She isn’t looking for just any home — she’s looking for her forever one, the kind that doesn’t change with circumstances or distance. Phoebe’s story isn’t about being returned. It’s about resilience, loyalty, and the belief that somewhere out there is a family who will stay. And until they walk through the door, she’ll keep wagging.

Dog Name: COOPER Age: 3 years, 3 months Gender: Male Weight: 8 kg / 17 lbs Breed: Maltese Spayed/Neutered? Yes Vaccinated? Yes Heartworm Negative? Yes Good with dogs? Yes Good with kids? Cooper has been around older children and has done very well. He has no experience with younger children. Good with cats? He hasn't been around cats. Has experience on a leash? Yes. Cooper walks well on a leash and enjoys his outdoor adventures. Potty trained? Yes Crate trained? Yes Where does the dog stay when it is alone? He currently lives with other foster dogs and shares the space comfortably. Where does the dog sleep? Cooper sleeps in a cozy dog bed alongside his foster siblings in a designated area. Temperament/Personality Meet Cooper! Cooper is a sweet, gentle soul with the perfect balance of playful energy and affectionate companionship. Just like his brother Teddy, Cooper loves spending time with his dog friends, but his favorite place in the world is right by his humans' side. Whether you're enjoying a quiet evening at home or heading out for an adventure, Cooper will happily be your loyal shadow. He loves his daily walks, enjoys exploring the outdoors, and never says no to cuddle time. If you're handing out pets or treats, Cooper will be first in line with his adorable smile! If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your days with love, laughter, and endless tail wags, Cooper is ready to become your very best friend. All he needs now is a forever family to call his own. What Does the Dog's Ideal Home Look Like? Cooper's Ideal Home Cooper would thrive in a home where he is treated as a true member of the family. He loves being around his people and will be happiest with adopters who enjoy including their dog in everyday activities, whether that's going for walks, spending time outdoors, or simply relaxing together at home. He would love a family that can provide daily exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. Cooper enjoys being active, but he's just as content curling up next to his favorite humans after a fun day of adventures.Cooper would do well with another friendly, playful dog, as he enjoys canine companionship, but he would also be happy as the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. He has done well with older children, and although he hasn't been around younger children, we believe his gentle and affectionate nature would make him a wonderful companion for respectful children under adult supervision. Because Cooper is smart and highly food-motivated, he'll thrive with a family that continues his training using positive reinforcement. He loves learning, earning treats, and making his people proud. Above all, Cooper is looking for a family that will give him the love, security, and lifelong commitment he has always deserved. In return, he'll be a devoted, affectionate companion who will fill your home with unconditional love and happy memories. What Is the Dog's Rescue Story? Cooper's Rescue Story Cooper and his brother, Teddy, were abandoned when the people who owned them moved away, leaving them to fend for themselves on the streets. Thankfully, a kind-hearted neighbor couldn't turn her back on them. Although she lived in a tiny apartment with only a small patio and didn't have the resources to care for two dogs long-term, she gave them a safe place to stay and reached out to our rescue for help. When we met Cooper, it was heartbreaking to see the condition he was in. His coat was severely matted, he was dirty, and he was extremely fearful of people, suggesting that he had experienced neglect and mistreatment. We immediately brought Cooper into our rescue, where he received veterinary care and a much-needed grooming. Once his matted coat was shaved, we realized just how neglected he had been. He was painfully underweight, little more than a walking skeleton. Over the following months, Cooper slowly regained his health, reached a healthy weight, and was neutered. More importantly, he learned that people could be loving and kind. With patience, gentle care, and lots of affection, his fear gradually disappeared, allowing his sweet, playful, and loving personality to blossom. Today, Cooper is a happy, healthy dog who has left his difficult past behind. Now he's ready for the final step in his journey: finding a forever family who will love him, cherish him, and never let him experience abandonment again. Cooper is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking him on a 10-day trial adoption. If you are interested, please apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org. His adoption fee is $650 ##2853501##

This young, handsome boy may be a little shy when he first meets new people, but give him a little patience and a few tasty treats, and you'll quickly discover his sweet, loving personality. Once he trusts you, Maple becomes a loyal companion who simply wants to be by your side. Maple loves spending time with other dogs and enjoys playing with his canine friends. He's also comfortable around children, making him a wonderful family companion. He can happily share his home with cats, too; he simply prefers to do his own thing rather than play with them. Smart, eager to learn, and highly food-motivated, Maple is a joy to train. He loves going for daily walks, exploring new places, and is always excited to jump in the car for an adventure.Maple is looking for a family that will give him the love, patience, and security he deserves. In return, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, a gentle heart, and a lifetime of companionship. Could you be the one to show Maple what forever feels like? What does the dog's ideal home look like? Maple's Ideal Home Maple would thrive with a family that understands that some of the very best dogs just need a little time to settle in. Because he's a bit shy when meeting new people, he'll do best with adopters who are patient, kind, and willing to let him build trust at his own pace. He would love a home where he can enjoy daily walks, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to learn. Since he's smart and highly food-motivated, he'd have fun continuing his training and learning new tricks. Maple would be happy as an only dog, receiving all the attention, or with another friendly, playful dog who could help boost his confidence. He has lived with children and can also peacefully coexist with cats that respect his space. Most of all, Maple is looking for a family that will include him in their everyday life, whether it's going on adventures, riding in the car, or simply relaxing together at home. With love, patience, and consistency, Maple will blossom into a devoted, affectionate, and loyal best friend. What is the dog's rescue story? Maple's Rescue Story Maple was found abandoned in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Guadalajara. By the time we found him, he had almost given up. He barely wanted to stand because people in the area had repeatedly abused him, even hitting him with brooms whenever he approached them looking for food. A kind woman reached out to us, pleading for help before it was too late. We went to rescue Maple immediately. The cruelty he had endured left him deeply traumatized. His spirit was broken, and he was extremely fearful of people. Rebuilding his trust wasn't easy—it took a year and a half of patience, love, and dedicated rehabilitation. Thanks to the compassionate care he received at La Casa de Lugo Sanctuary in Colima, Maple slowly began to heal. Day by day, he rediscovered that not all humans are unkind. Today, his gentle, sweet nature has blossomed, and he has learned to trust and love again. Maple's journey is a testament to the incredible resilience of dogs. Now, all that's missing is a forever family who will continue showing him the kindness he has always deserved. Maple is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking him on 10-day a trial adoption. If you are interested, apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org His adoption fee is $650 ##2854052##
