Sonny - Male English Mastiff Age: 2.5 years Good with: Cats: Yes Dogs: Yes with slow intro Kids: Yes, older kids Location: Noble, IL Weight: 160 lbs Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the carMeet Sonny- he is sure to sweep you off your feet and fill an empty spot on your sofa and heart. He’s notin a hurry to rush things, he prefers to take things nice and slow. Making sure things are safe and givinghim the time he deserves to get familiar with all things new is key. Sonny prefers a home with a confidentleader and lots of structure. He loves to stay on his routine once he has that figured out the rest is history. Sonny does great with the company of another dog that understands he’s the boss. A female dogcompanion would be ideal, but being the only dog child would be just fine too. If your home has a dogsavy cat, count him in.Sonny prefers to spend his days lounging on the couch or a comfy spot at the feet of his person. He reallylikes the ladies. You will never do a single thing alone at home with him around. Spending time outsidesunbathing is refreshing. But he has just enough energy to chase a ball or wrestle his fur sibling outside. When it comes to little people-Sonny absolutely adores older giant breed experienced kiddos. He thinksit’s really fun to chase his current little person on his dirt bike, always keeping his eye on him to makesure he’s safe. He’s also a pro at hanging out and just watching tv with the little people when it’s time tocall it a day.Potty and crate trained-he has it mastered. Sonny does well on a leash and even knows how to sit, shakeand stay when instructed.A fenced in backyard wouldn’t be a must, but having strangers in/out of an open yard likely wouldn’t behis cup of tea. That would be a little scary for him. Sonny also has really long legs and can cover a lot ofground in a hurry if he gets the urge to explore so being left unsupervised outside wouldn’t be ideal Sonny's perfect adopter?Patient, experienced large breed, he will be a work in progress. He is very leary of new people and getsspooked easily. Has to be someone that has time and patience to work through his initial fear. He is lessworried with females initially but I do think he needs a confident, gentle male in his life. Norbert (Norby) - Male English Mastiff Age: 1 year, 10 months Good with: Cats: Yes, with slow introductions Dogs: Yes Kids: Does well with older kids Other: Goats Location: Oak Forrest, IL Weight: 130 lbs Norbert is a sweet dog. He loves to be by his people but is content to chill out as well. He loves belly rubs and enjoys playing with his toys or people outside. Norbert would do well in any home that can give him attention and love. He would be fine with a first-time giant owner. He would do best in a house with other animals and a fenced yard. He doesn’t require a lot of exercise but he’s so happy when he sees other animals or when my kids go outside to play with him. Story
HI! My name is Yrene (pronounced Irene), and I am 2-3 years old! Funny story about my history of names: when I first came into animal control, they thought I was a boy because I was so scared that I wouldn't stand up, and named me Waylon. Waylon is actually a pretty cool name, but so is Yrene! My foster mom was looking for a boy dog to foster, but once she met me and saw how sweet (and skinny) I was, she couldn’t say no. I was weak and shut down when they found me, but I’ve blossomed into a couch cuddling, silly, and loving girl. The things I love most are food, toys and snuggling. Loving food makes me treat motivated and easy to train, too. I’m a pro at kenneling up, and walking on leash. I won't pull you, or bark at other dogs. My foster mom actually really enjoys taking me on walks because she says it is such a peaceful experience having me with her. I'm not overly needy for affection, but do love my people that I bond too. Other people are cool too, but I may be shy with them. But, its okay to be shy! Imagine if our world was full of only extroverts. I love cuddling with my foster mom and pretending I’m a small lap dog. I currently live with other big dogs and a cat, and especially love being around my dog foster brother. My dream home has a backyard to romp around in, followed by a comfy spot inside to take a long LONG nap. One of my favorite activities is to take all my toys out of the toy bucket to pick which one to play with for the day and then carry it outside and forget about it. My foster mom doesn't mind, and is just so happy to see me happy. Maybe someone can train me to put all my toys back too! My foster mom loves me, and I love her, too. But, I'd really love a person or family of my own, and she'd love to keep saving dogs to foster. I'm low maintenance and wouldn't mind a quiet or low activity home. I'll show my gratitude daily with my cute paw waves and head tilts with the most adorable face wrinkles. The adoption fee for Yrene is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Yrene please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team members.

Story
Hi, All Mac, here short for Mac truck lol. If you love big goofy dogs, I'm your guy. I am 100 lbs. of cuddle bug. I really don't think I am as big as they say I am because I would prefer to just be a couch Potatoe and lay next to my people and chew on a bone. I am a people kind of guy and love everyone I meet. I can probably live with another dog, but he would have to be calmer like me. but little dogs and very young children I would be afraid of because I am clumsy and wouldn't want to hurt them. I definitely don't think I could handle cats. But I know a lot of commands they say I am really smart and a fast learner. I am potty trained but do not like cages. I am strong on a leash so I would need a strong owner.
