Meet Poe
At approximately 3 years old and 90 pounds, Poe is an intelligent, energetic, and affectionate boy who loves spending time outdoors. Whether he's hiking, swimming, chasing a ball, or simply lounging in the grass, Poe is happiest when he has room to explore and enjoy life. He's the perfect adventure buddy for someone who loves staying active and spending time in nature.
Inside the home, Poe is a sweet, devoted companion who loves being close to his people. He'll happily follow you from room to room, stop by for kisses and belly rubs, and settle in nearby when it's time to relax. He's incredibly smart, highly food motivated, and eager to please, making him a rewarding dog to work with.
Poe has strong guardian instincts and can be reactive toward unfamiliar people, other dogs, and unexpected activity, particularly on walks or in busy environments. He may bark, lunge, or become difficult to redirect when overwhelmed. However, his foster family has been working consistently on his reactivity, and he's already making encouraging progress. He does best with calm, deliberate introductions and warms up beautifully once he feels comfortable.
Poe has shown that he can get along with other dogs through slow, thoughtful introductions, although he remains reactive toward them on leash.
While Poe settles nicely in his crate when his people are home, he will attempt to escape if crated while left alone. Fortunately, he generally does well when given access to a safely dog-proofed home. He's also a determined escape artist who can chew through tie-outs and disregard pet gates, so secure containment and supervision are essential.
Poe's ideal home is in a quiet suburban or rural setting with a securely fenced yard and an experienced guardian breed owner. He needs someone who understands reactivity, can confidently manage his strength, and is committed to continuing his training. A peaceful environment, consistent routines, plenty of exercise, and positive reinforcement will help him thrive.
Poe may need a little more guidance than some dogs, but he has an incredible amount of love to give. He's playful, loyal, affectionate, and always ready for his next adventure. With the right environment and a family who understands his needs, Poe has all the potential to be an amazing lifelong companion.

Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Just Giants does not adopt outside of the continental US.
