Story
Norbert (Norby) - Male English Mastiff Age: 1 year, 10 months Good with: Cats: Yes, with slow introductions Dogs: Yes Kids: Does well with older kids Other: Goats Location: Oak Forrest, IL Weight: 130 lbs Norbert is a sweet dog. He loves to be by his people but is content to chill out as well. He loves belly rubs and enjoys playing with his toys or people outside. Norbert would do well in any home that can give him attention and love. He would be fine with a first-time giant owner. He would do best in a house with other animals and a fenced yard. He doesn’t require a lot of exercise but he’s so happy when he sees other animals or when my kids go outside to play with him. Story
Hi, All Mac, here short for Mac truck lol. If you love big goofy dogs, I'm your guy. I am 100 lbs. of cuddle bug. I really don't think I am as big as they say I am because I would prefer to just be a couch Potatoe and lay next to my people and chew on a bone. I am a people kind of guy and love everyone I meet. I can probably live with another dog, but he would have to be calmer like me. but little dogs and very young children I would be afraid of because I am clumsy and wouldn't want to hurt them. I definitely don't think I could handle cats. But I know a lot of commands they say I am really smart and a fast learner. I am potty trained but do not like cages. I am strong on a leash so I would need a strong owner.

Story
HI! My name is Yrene (pronounced Irene). Funny story about my history of names: when I first came into animal control, they thought I was a boy, and named me Waylon. Waylon is actually a pretty cool name, but how could they mistake this beautiful face! My foster mom was looking for a boy dog to foster, but once she met me and saw how sweet (and skinny) I was, she couldn’t say no. I was weak and shut down when they found me, but I’ve blossomed into a strong, silly, and loving girl. The things I love most are food, toys and snuggling at your feet. Loving food makes me treat motivated and easy to train. I’m a pro at kenneling up!  I can be shy at first to people and animals, but it doesn’t take me long to feel comfortable enough to show my true self. I currently live with other big dogs and a cat, and especially love being around my dog foster brother. My dream home has a backyard to romp around in, followed by a comfy spot inside to take a long LONG nap.  One of my favorite activities is to take all my toys out of the toy bucket to pick which one to play with for the day and then carry it outside and forget about it. Maybe someone can train me to put all my toys back too! I do cute waves and head tilts with the most adorable face wrinkles. I’d really love a family of my own that would bond with me through positive reinforcement training so I can be my bestest doggo self! The adoption fee for Yrene is $300.  This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet  Yrene  please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team members.  March 15, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Bailey Age: 2 years Gender: Female Breed: Mastiff mix Weight: 100lbs Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Dog friendly: No Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Vaccinated: Yes Spayed/Neutered: Yes Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes Energy level: Medium, can and will find things she can destroy if not watched or exercised regularly. Location: Fostered in Chicago, Illinois. No out of state applicants, please. Bailey came to us as a skinny, terrified, stray dog that would have likely been euthanized at animal control. Her finder spent days gaining her trust to get her off the streets, and offered to foster her. Bailey has blossomed since first being found. She loves to be outside. Very protective of her people. Loves to roll in the grass. Sweetie pie. Loves to eat. Enjoys stealing wet cat food. Not a fan of other dogs. Still working on her walking calm when others are too close for her comfort but she’s a protective breed and watches over her foster mom. She doesn’t care for bike riders. Bailey is a sweetie pie that thinks she's a small lap dog. She's happy just to be with you. She loves long walks and playing outside but if you just want to stay inside and watch a movie she's content to put her big head on your lap and watch the movie with you. Bailey would do best in a quiet home with adults only. If you’re interested in meeting Bailey, please fill out an application at the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog
