Story
Hi, I’m Finn and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Finn Location: Belleville, IL. Date of Birth: 02/07/2025 Gender: Male Breed: English Mastiff Color: Fawn / Black Dog's Weight: 89 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Finn! Finn is a very sweet, affectionate boy who is learning to build his confidence and discovering just how wonderful the world can be. He’s a champion snuggler, a professional kiss-giver, and an all-around gentle soul who truly loves being loved. Finn gets along beautifully with other dogs and is very respectful when meeting them—he’ll politely sniff and wait to see how they feel before engaging. He’s curious about cats and would love to play, but when they hiss he simply runs away, showing just how soft-hearted he really is. He walks well on a leash and surprised everyone by walking right into his kennel on his own as soon as he got home. Finn is still learning about toys and bones, but he’s already discovered that peanut butter and treats are excellent life choices. He understands “no” and, aside from the occasional zoomies (complete with happy barks and playful running), he’s a very calm and easygoing guy. Finn is wonderful with kids of all ages. He met an 8-year-old at PetSmart and was completely unfazed by repeated pets, greeting her gently with sniffs. With toddlers and even babies, Finn was incredibly soft and appropriate—sniffing calmly and even offering a sweet little kiss. He’s affectionate and loves attention, but he’s also comfortable doing his own thing when the mood strikes, making him a nice balance of cuddly and independent. Finn will thrive in just about any loving home. He would be a great choice for a first-time giant breed owner thanks to his gentle temperament and easygoing nature. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy. A fenced yard is not required—what Finn truly needs is attention, patience, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted, affectionate dog who will happily fit into almost any family, Finn might just be your perfect match. Story
Hi, I’m Ocean and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Ocean  Location: Waunakee, WI Date of Birth: 6/1/2024 Gender: Female Breed: English Mastiff Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 83 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  All cats  Kids?: Older kids Training: Leash trained: Pulls on leash, but walks nicely with a harness Crate/Kennel:  Goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car - needs to be tethered Meet Ocean! Ocean is doing wonderfully in foster care and continues to show just how special she is. She’s already learned to bark and paw at the door when she needs to go outside and settles into her kennel without fuss—though she may need a gentle reminder that the couch isn’t always an option because, let’s be honest, it is pretty comfy. She rides well in the car, hopping right in on her own. While she may whine a little during drives, she handles outings like a champ and even impressed the vet staff by politely taking treats. Ocean has also met teenagers and, after a brief initial bark, quickly warmed up and became friendly and affectionate once properly introduced. Ocean is a playful, high-energy pup who would absolutely love a canine playmate. She’s been eager to play with her foster sibling and would thrive with another energetic dog who can keep up with her fun-loving spirit. Leash training is in progress and improving, and with more consistent walks, she’s expected to continue doing great. Like many young dogs, Ocean can still get a bit jumpy when she’s excited and may “tag” with her front paws while playing. She’s gentle, mouths lightly, and is actively learning good manners with continued positive reinforcement. She’s shown curiosity about counters but no surfing, and she does a great job distinguishing between her toys and people’s belongings. Ocean will do best in a home with an active family ready to continue training, another playful, energetic dog, slightly older kids who can handle her enthusiasm, and patience and consistency to help her mature into her best self. Ocean is a truly sweet girl with a loving heart and joyful personality. With continued guidance and time to grow, she’s going to be an amazing addition to a lucky family. Story
Hi, I’m Waylon and I am still gaining weight. Check back as my foster family learns more about me and helps me heal! Dog’s Name: Waylon Location: Seneca, MO Date of Birth: 01/26/2025 Gender: Male Breed:Mastiff Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 81 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Other: Chickens Training: Leash trained: walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  please see description below Potty trained: working on it and doing well Car:  Rides well in the car Meet Waylon Waylon is learning how to be a dog — and it’s the sweetest thing to watch. From discovering toys to learning how to snuggle, this gentle boy is blossoming more every day. He absolutely loves to play, especially roughhousing with the other dogs in his foster home, and truly thrives with canine companionship. A confident dog buddy helps him build his confidence and brings out his playful, happy personality. Waylon prefers having a little more freedom and doesn’t do well in confined spaces. Because he would try to escape and can hurt himself, we made the decision not to crate him and instead focus on keeping him safe and comfortable in other ways. Waylon adores attention and affection, enjoys being petted, and is learning that cuddles are pretty great too. He’s a sweet soul with a soft heart — gentle when taking treats, eager to please, and always trying his best to do the right thing. He loves kids, loves his people, and just wants to belong to a family of his own. Waylon would do great with a first-time giant breed owner who is ready to provide love, patience, and continued guidance. A fenced yard is a must so he can safely run, play, and burn off his puppy energy. Having another dog in the home is essential to help build his confidence and give him a playful companion. Waylon is the kind of dog who will grow into an incredibly loyal, loving companion with the right family by his side. If you’re looking for a sweet boy with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and the potential to become the most devoted best friend you’ve ever had — Waylon is waiting for you. Story
Hi, I’m Annabelle and I’m redy to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Annabelle Location:  Waukesha, WI Date of Birth: 06/01/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Boerboel Mastiff mix Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 68 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: All Kids  Training: Crate/Kennel: goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Does great at the vet Annabelle is a goofy, happy puppy with classic puppy energy and a big, joyful personality. She’s eager to please and already showing how smart she is—she knows “sit” and is excited to keep learning more. With the right guidance, this girl is going to shine. In her foster home, Annabelle loves cuddling with the kids and is happiest when she’s part of the action. She also enjoys playing with the Great Danes in the home and does well with large, friendly dogs who can match her playful energy. When playtime is over, she’s more than ready to settle in for snuggles. Annabelle’s ideal adopters will understand that puppies need structure, consistency, and continued training to grow into well-mannered adults. She would do well with a family committed to reinforcing good manners and continuing basic obedience training. Because she is eager to learn, training will be both rewarding and fun for her. She could be a great match for a first-time giant breed owner who is willing to learn and put in the time for training. A home with another playful dog would be a bonus, as she enjoys canine companionship, but it’s not a requirement as long as she gets plenty of interaction and exercise. A securely fenced yard is recommended so Annabelle has a safe space to run, play, and burn off her puppy energy. She does show a slight prey drive, so adopters should keep this in mind and plan for proper supervision and training. Annabelle is a sweet, silly, and loving puppy who’s ready to grow up with a family that will guide her, love her, and laugh along with her puppy antics every step of the way. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online.
