Story
If you’re looking for a dog that brings the energy and the charm, Octane is ready to rev up your life. This smiley boy lives up to his name with enthusiasm for just about everything — making friends, learning new things, and having a blast with his fellow pups. Octane is super friendly and approaches the world with a happy-go-lucky attitude that’s impossible not to love. He’s eager to learn new tricks and would thrive with a family excited to continue teaching him all the fun things a smart, motivated dog can do. Treats, praise, playtime? Octane says yes to all of it. When it’s time to socialize, Octane shines there too. He does well playing with other dogs and would love a canine buddy or regular playdates to help burn off some of that joyful energy. With his big grin, playful spirit, and lovable personality, Octane is the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into adventures. All he needs now is a home to call his own. Story
🩷I learned much about adorable Meryl Streep yesterday as we buddied up and attended CARE’S Adoption Event at “Tower Grove Pride” event. This adorable one and a half year-old pup showed her happy self from the moment she jumped in the car and was the perfect backseat rider. 🩷As we walked to CARE’S tent Meryl walked well on the leash. The event was well attended and this sweet pup was friendly and sweet throughout. As participants of all ages came up to say “Hi” and gave her pets she was gentle to everyone. As other dogs passed she was mostly indifferent being content and enjoying the moment. When this precious girl was tired she laid down and fell fast asleep and stayed like that as the action continued all around her. After her short nap we headed back to the car. This precious, perfect girl made the day’s event fun, happy and totally enjoyable for me her sidekick💕 🩷All I could think is this fabulous pup belongs in a loving home and hopefully soon! Meryl Streep, is a treasure and would be a cherished pup for many families. -Her eye condition is called Cherry Eye and is not serious and will be taken care of by CARES clinic when she’s adopted. 🩷She is at CARE STL for you to meet and possibly fall in love just like me🩷🐾XOXO

Story
Bagels is an adorable 11-month-old Mastiff mix (we suspect there's a little Boxer in her!) who is the very definition of a tiny lap puppy disguised in a big, beautiful body. This goofy girl has absolutely no clue how big she is, and she'll try to climb right onto your lap to melt you with her big brown eyes and sweet face! Bagels is a true Velcro pup who will follow you everywhere, convinced that your personal space is her personal cuddle zone. But with a face this cute, who needs personal space? She's quite smart, too, and is great motivated, which means she's quick to follow commands. Bagels is reliably house-broken (for the most part!) and loves sleeping comfortably on her own couch, going for walks around the neighborhood, and goofing around in the backyard. She's ready to fill an active home with love, snuggles, and endless laughs!

Story
✨ Meet Zaffre! ✨ Zaffre is a 5-year-old mastiff/pit mix weighing about 85 lbs of pure love and goofiness. He’s been with us for about two weeks, and he has truly been the best house guest. When we met Zaffre at the shelter, he had only been there a couple of days after coming from a neglected situation with 7 other dogs. Despite his rough start, Zaffre has settled into home life beautifully and continues to show just how special he is. 🏡 In the home: • About 90% potty trained (a few marking accidents in our unfinished basement) • Great with our female GSD • Tolerates our two cats • Treat motivated with no signs of food aggression 🐕 Personality & training: Zaffre is a big, goofy lug with the sweetest soul. He’s curious and clearly experiencing many things for the first time, taking it all in with wide-eyed wonder. Because he’s a big boy, he can pull on the leash when he really needs to go, but he responds well to correction and wants to do the right thing. ✂️ Health: Zaffre was neutered last Friday and is recovering very well. Zaffre deserves a loving, patient forever home where he can continue to learn, feel safe, and be cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a silly side, Zaffre just might be your perfect match. 💙

Story
Fitzwilliam has been with me for a couple months now. He was on the life saver list for no other reason than length of stay. He is a unique dog, in a good way and I am quite enjoying him. He’s my steady eddie dog. He doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve like a lot of dogs do, he is much calmer about his affection towards me, which is good. I alternate sitting w/my foster dogs in their yard after dinner, I bring my chair in and read my book. He is the most pleasant dog to sit with. He puts his head in my lap for pats, and eventually goes and does his own thing. He is a large dog so he can be a bit strong on a leash. But, that said, it is mostly if I go in the woods and we see deer. If I walk him on the road he is quite pleasant to walk. When it comes to meeting people he is a bit shy. I have never seen him be snarky, he is more inclined to move away. If they leave him alone he will go right up and sniff them and eventually meet the person. I was told he was semi feral, which I am not sure he is, but he does have a bolting instinct. When I take him places I am very careful getting him out of the car, he does tend to want to run when he gets out. In 3 seconds he is fine though. He seems to like other dogs, and I know they let him in play groups at the shelter. I would say a 6’ fenced yard for him is a must. He is a very pleasant easier dog. You mostly just have to be able to handle him if he is stronger on the leash. Otherwise he is just a super dog!

Story
Meet Chili Mac!    This 11-month-old Cane Corso is a big, lovable goofball with a heart as giant as his paws! Chili Mac is equal parts cuddle bug and class clown — he’ll make you laugh one minute and melt into your lap the next.   He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he decides you’re cool, he’s all in! He’s great with dogs big and small (seriously — from 6 lbs to 120 lbs!), crate and potty trained, and already knows some basic commands.   Due to Chili Mac's size and clumsiness, he would do best in a home with older children. He would also be best with someone who has breed/guardian experience given some mouthy behaviors which are normal for the breed.   Chili Mac would love an active home with another dog friend or a human adventure buddy. Whether you’re hiking, road-tripping, or just lounging on the couch- as long as you don’t mind a little drool, he’s ready to be your ride-or-die!    If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
