Story
Chili Mac is currently enrolled in the 12-week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections.  He will graduate around May 1st and will be available for adoption at that time.  If you are interested in adopting Chili Mac, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you. Meet Chili Mac!    This 11-month-old Cane Corso is a big, lovable goofball with a heart as giant as his paws! Chili Mac is equal parts cuddle bug and class clown — he’ll make you laugh one minute and melt into your lap the next.   He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he decides you’re cool, he’s all in! He’s great with dogs big and small (seriously — from 6 lbs to 120 lbs!), crate and potty trained, and already knows some basic commands.   Due to Chili Mac's size and clumsiness, he would do best in a home with older children. He would also be best with someone who has breed/guardian experience given some mouthy behaviors which are normal for the breed.   Chili Mac would love an active home with another dog friend or a human adventure buddy. Whether you’re hiking, road-tripping, or just lounging on the couch- as long as you don’t mind a little drool, he’s ready to be your ride-or-die!    If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 22, 2026, 12:15 am

Story
🩷I learned much about adorable Meryl Streep yesterday as we buddied up and attended CARE’S Adoption Event at “Tower Grove Pride” event. This adorable one and a half year-old pup showed her happy self from the moment she jumped in the car and was the perfect backseat rider. 🩷As we walked to CARE’S tent Meryl walked well on the leash. The event was well attended and this sweet pup was friendly and sweet throughout. As participants of all ages came up to say “Hi” and gave her pets she was gentle to everyone. As other dogs passed she was mostly indifferent being content and enjoying the moment. When this precious girl was tired she laid down and fell fast asleep and stayed like that as the action continued all around her. After her short nap we headed back to the car. This precious, perfect girl made the day’s event fun, happy and totally enjoyable for me her sidekick💕 🩷All I could think is this fabulous pup belongs in a loving home and hopefully soon! Meryl Streep, is a treasure and would be a cherished pup for many families. -Her eye condition is called Cherry Eye and is not serious and will be taken care of by CARES clinic when she’s adopted. 🩷She is at CARE STL for you to meet and possibly fall in love just like me🩷🐾XOXO

Story
Meet Fitzwilliam, a handsome and incredibly loyal companion who is ready to find his "person." Whether you call him Fitz or Fitzy, he is a dog who truly listens; he responds beautifully to his name, soft whistles, and kiss sounds. While he might take a quiet 24 hours to assess a new environment, once that bond is formed, it is unbreakable. He is a "velcro dog" in the best way, often waiting for his favorite humans to sit down and relax before he finally settles into his own bed for the night. Fitzwilliam is a brilliant, observant boy with a problem-solving mind that will constantly impress you. He has even figured out how to operate lever-style door handles and pocket doors! This intelligence makes him a joy to engage with; he already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more. When he’s feeling playful, he showcases a silly side with joyful zoomies or "boxer-style" wrestling moves on the floor. Despite his athletic side, he is a gentleman at heart who is remarkably gentle with children, often approaching quietly for a sniff and a polite pat. A true homebody, Fitz loves the finer things in life—specifically cozy dog beds with high sides or cushioned bolsters. He is a relaxed presence in the house and is very content to snooze the day away once he’s had his exercise. He is also a star in his crate; once he settles in with a treat-filled Kong, he is calm and quiet, making him an easy roommate. His loyalty is perhaps his most impressive trait. In busy situations, he looks to his owners for guidance and stays by their side rather than wandering off. He’s the perfect partner for someone who enjoys a nice walk to the woods and appreciates a dog who truly values the connection they share. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, and devoted friend to share your home with, Fitzwilliam is waiting to meet you.

Story
Bagels is an adorable 11-month-old Mastiff mix (we suspect there's a little Boxer in her!) who is the very definition of a tiny lap puppy disguised in a big, beautiful body. This goofy girl has absolutely no clue how big she is, and she'll try to climb right onto your lap to melt you with her big brown eyes and sweet face! Bagels is a true Velcro pup who will follow you everywhere, convinced that your personal space is her personal cuddle zone. But with a face this cute, who needs personal space? She's quite smart, too, and is great motivated, which means she's quick to follow commands. Bagels is reliably house-broken (for the most part!) and loves sleeping comfortably on her own couch, going for walks around the neighborhood, and goofing around in the backyard. She's ready to fill an active home with love, snuggles, and endless laughs!

Story
Meet Role Model, a 2-year-old soul who is living proof that a rough start doesn’t define a soft heart. When he first arrived at the shelter, it was so bitterly cold that his drool had frozen into icicles on his face—a heartbreaking beginning for such a sensitive boy. While he started out understandably terrified, Role Model is bravely blooming into the ultimate "best of both worlds" companion. He is a master of the loose-leash walk, constantly checking in with his person for reassurance, and has revealed himself to be a world-class snuggler who literally melts into a snoring puddle within two minutes of a "doggie massage." Don’t let his "big baby" nature fool you, though—this boy has a joyful, puppy-like side that is just starting to shine! He absolutely LOVES squeaky toys and will happily entertain you with a game of fetch, though he’s a true gentleman who never plays too rough; he’s perfectly content just sitting nearby to contentedly chew on his prize. Whether he’s leaning in for a "hug" because he’s feeling a little unsure or curled up as your favorite couch potato, Role Model is looking for a protector to show him that the world is a safe, warm place. He’s trying so hard to be the brave boy we know he is—he just needs a forever home to help him get there.
