Mrs. Doubtfire came to us as a stray, scared and shut down, but each day she’s showing us a little more of her sweet and loving personality! Once she feels comfortable, she starts to let her playful side shine in the yard and happily enjoys affection from her favorite people. We know there’s so much more to discover about this lovely girl as she continues to come out of her shell. Mrs. Doubtfire is looking for a patient, understanding family who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and settle in. He is housebroken and crate trained and does great in a busy household. He was completely calm and quiet during my mom’s 80th birthday party—even with a loud Filipino family gathering and karaoke happening nearby. An 8-year-old autistic family member played with him through the crate, and he was happy and relaxed. He’s getting better on leash and will come back when called if he starts pulling. He may react to some dogs or small animals but is redirectable. He is very people-oriented, loves attention and wants to be near his humans, but will settle when it’s not available. He’s good with kids, probably 6+, because he’s gentle but doesn’t always realize how big he is. With other dogs, he seems more interested in coexisting than wrestling or playing. He needs a dog that respects boundaries and slow introductions are recommended. He’s very food motivated, although chicken may upset his stomach. He isn’t particularly interested in toys or balls. Car rides are his biggest challenge—he tolerates them but gets stressed, drools and doesn’t settle. Overall, he’s a sweet, affectionate, goofy guy who has made great progress and really just wants to be near his people.

Meet Cosmo...an Independent Spirit, Born Guardian Personality: Cosmo is a spirited, adventurous, intelligent Caucasian Shepherd puppy with a big personality and natural guardian instincts. We don't know much about his past, but we are excited to help him findthe bright future he deserves. Melvin is a big, goofy boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves other dogs, especially dogs his own size, and nothing makes him happier than a good game of chase or some rough-and-tumble wrestling with a canine friend. Because he's still young, he's full of energy and doesn't always realize just how big he is. One of Melvin's sweetest qualities is how quickly he bonds with his people. He's a true shadow dog who wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're making dinner, watching TV, or working around the house, you will find a big slobbery face following right behind you. He loves being part of the family and is happiest when he's included. Melvin already has a great foundation for his new family. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash, making the transition into his forever home that much easier. He still has plenty to learn, and needs someone who will teach him. He's been around children and has done well, though his size and enthusiastic play style mean he'll do best with a family that can help him continue learning good manners.
