He’s looking for a family who can appreciate both his sweet side and his adventurous spirit. Meatball will need a home without cats or small animals. Road Runner is a sweet older Mastiff who came to us as a stray. Unfortunately, when he first arrived to us he had some medical issues that needed attention. Road Runner is feeling much better these days though and he’s ready to find his family. Road Runner is estimated to be about 9 years old and does come with some older gentleman needs that any future family should be prepared for. Road Runner has a BIG bark, but behind that big voice is an even bigger love bug. He is happiest when he can be close to his people and would love nothing more than to find a family who will give him the comfort, patience, and companionship he deserves for his golden years. He is housebroken and crate trained and does great in a busy household. He was completely calm and quiet during my mom’s 80th birthday party—even with a loud Filipino family gathering and karaoke happening nearby. An 8-year-old autistic family member played with him through the crate, and he was happy and relaxed. He’s getting better on leash and will come back when called if he starts pulling. He may react to some dogs or small animals but is redirectable. He is very people-oriented, loves attention and wants to be near his humans, but will settle when it’s not available. He’s good with kids, probably 6+, because he’s gentle but doesn’t always realize how big he is. With other dogs, he seems more interested in coexisting than wrestling or playing. He needs a dog that respects boundaries and slow introductions are recommended. He’s very food motivated, although chicken may upset his stomach. He isn’t particularly interested in toys or balls. Car rides are his biggest challenge—he tolerates them but gets stressed, drools and doesn’t settle. Overall, he’s a sweet, affectionate, goofy guy who has made great progress and really just wants to be near his people.
