Story
My name is Max and I am a very loving, sweet, kind and spunky senior poodle. I have been with my mommy since I was 3 months old and now that my mommy and I are both seniors we each need to be taken care of by extended villages. I recently lost my eyesight, and my mommy can no longer carry me up and down the stairs and everywhere I want to explore, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying life, not one bit. Recently I went to the vet and was told I am a very healthy senior dog with all of my immunizations up to date. I am looking for a forever home to live out the rest of my senior years

Story
Simmba has been waiting for his forever home for over a year now at Shelter Hope. Simmba is a 3 y/o and 13 lb Poodle mix who was surrendered the day after Christmas 2024. Before that, he lived only outdoors and received less attention as his family’s children grew older. Despite this, Simmba has a huge heart and blossoms with patience, consistency, and kindness. Simmba loves fetch, squeaky toys, and zooming or rolling through the grass, as well as soaking up the sun on his favorite bench. Indoors, he keeps his lamby toy close, happily offers enthusiastic face kisses, and adores cuddles, belly rubs, and simply being near his people. He also respects boundaries and will retreat to his bed or “sanctuary” when asked. His foster tells us he seems fully potty trained, food-motivated, and already knows the “sit” command. Simmba can be protective and sometimes needs help navigating his big feelings (which is why he’s often called a “project dog”) but he bonds deeply and is incredibly loyal once trust is built. He does have some skin allergies, possibly food-related, and currently wears a cone to prevent licking, though it doesn’t slow down his playful, quirky personality. He does best in a calm, low-chaos environment, where he can grow more confident and relaxed. His foster is actively socializing him with new people and other dogs, and he’s making excellent progress. With his fun-loving nature, Simmba could do well as an only dog or with another small, friendly, playful female dog as a companion. What he truly needs is a home without kids who is willing to give him the time and understanding he’s waited so long for. Simmba has so much love to give. All he’s missing is his forever home 🐾 ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Ohnee is a 7.5-year-old, 17-lb poodle whose life has been shaped by loss, but her heart is still so full of love. When Ohnee was just a puppy, her beloved human mom passed away. She was taken in by the daughter, who already had too many dogs and couldn’t properly care for them. Over the years, Ohnee quietly endured neglect until animal control stepped in. She was surrendered to Shelter Hope so she could have the best chance at finding the loving forever home she deserves. When Ohnee arrived, she was in rough shape, severely matted, overweight, and filthy. The vet removed two mammary tumors and gave her a full dental and bloodwork. Today, Ohnee is feeling so much better and showing us who she really is. And who she is? A gentle, playful, and mellow little soul. Ohnee seems housebroken, enjoys being around kids, loves people-watching, and is perfectly content relaxing in her dog bed, soaking in the calm she’s been missing for so long. Ohnee has lost so much in her life, but she hasn’t lost her sweetness. She’s ready for a soft place to land, a steady routine, and someone who will love her for the rest of her days. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a quiet, resilient spirit, Ohnee is waiting for you! More from her foster: She likes short walks and literally prances every morning because she is so happy to see me. Super sweet little girl. Unfortunately she is almost completely deaf. She's needs a calm household with people who are mindful of where she is. ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Leasha Keys (AKA Alicia Keys) is a sweet 1.5 year old and 19 lb Terripoo who has overcome so much. Her previous owners kept her outside her entire life. She was out there with multiple dogs, and because they were not fixed, the situation quickly spiraled. They ended up surrendering 5 dogs to Shelter Hope. When Leasha arrived, she was in really bad shape. She was filthy, scared, and her eye was badly injured. It looked like she had suffered blunt force trauma, though we aren’t sure if it was from a fall or if she was struck. It was severe. Thanks to regular visits to an ophthalmologist and a foster who refused to give up on her, her eye looks much better. She is blind in that eye, but it doesn’t slow her down at all. She gets around wonderfully and lives her life like any other happy dog. Despite everything she’s been through, Leasha is pure sweetness. She’s affectionate, playful, and friendly with everyone she meets. She does great with other dogs and kids, walks nicely on a leash, enjoys car rides, and uses the doggy door like a pro. She appears to be housebroken too. If you’re looking for a gentle, snuggly best friend with a resilient heart, Leasha Keys is ready for her forever home. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and waiting for someone to finally choose her. More from her foster: She enjoys car rides and loves to fetch and play. She sticks her head out the doggy door to watch for squirrels and birds. A house with school aged kids would be great. She would love another dog to play with. She keeps trying to get my dogs to play! She’s an absolute joy. We fall more in love with her every day ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers.
