Story
Otis was a loving companion to his owner since being rescued him from a county shelter in Arizona about 4 years ago. Otis stayed by his owner’s side through his terminal cancer diagnosis, offering comfort and companionship. Unfortunately, since his owner has passed away, Otis needs a new family to live out his golden years. Otis is very affectionate, sweet, and still quite active. Otis loves going for walks (he is a good walker) and he especially loves the dog beach (he turns into part greyhound there). He loves to cuddle with his family on the couch or in bed. He is completely potty trained and knows basic commands. He is confident and friendly in public spaces. Otis is very friendly with all people and has done well around young children. Otis has lived with other dogs and would do well with other playmates or would be happy as a single dog. He is still very playful with young dogs, but patient and calm with older dogs.

Story
Chelsea was rescued in the Rosarito Area. Judging from her behavior, she had a house, and either she had been abandoned or lost. At the time of her rescue, she surprised us with the news that she was expecting puppies. Chelsea recently became a mom, and her 5 pups and she are now ready for adoption, all in good health. She is sweet, loving, and friendly with humans and pets. She is a calm dog, currently trying to find quiet time and cuddles away from her growing puppies, but she is a great mom. During her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and loves to play with toys.

Story
We adopted Rosa from the SPCA in Norfolk, VA in July 2020. Her vet-estimated age is 7-8 years old. She has been in San Diego with us since we moved in March 2022. Despite our attempts to integrate Rosa with our other dog over the last 5 years, we have not had the success we hoped for. At this point, though we are devastated, we feel they would both be safer/happier if separated. Rosa is an amazing dog! She is at times energetic and playful, and other times perfectly content being a couch potato and getting lots of scritches. She is extremely smart and learns quickly. It helps that she is very food-motivated! She loves to play with heavy duty chew toys, her flirt pole, and puzzle toys. She loves going for walks around our neighborhood, but prefers to run free in an enclosed space or explore a wide open area on a long lead. In a new home, Rosa would enjoy being the center of attention (only pet) with an owner who has lots of love to give and who can prioritize her needs ❤️

Story
Meet Lady: a beautiful two-year-old soul with a resilient spirit. Lady wound up at her town's local animal shelter not once, not twice, but three times throughout her short little life. With each shelter stay, Lady's fate hung in the balance, her future uncertain. But five minutes before the world went dark for her, fate intervened! Lady's story is one of perseverance, a testament to the indomitable spirit that resides in rescue dogs. With each return to the shelter, Lady clung to the hope that one day, her forever family would come for her. But time stretched on, and as she watched her kennel companions find their homes, Lady's hope began to waver. She wondered if her family would ever come; if the love she longed to give would forever remain unclaimed. From Lady's perspective, the days blurred together, a montage of waiting and wondering. She yearned for the gentle touch of a hand, the warmth of a loving gaze, and the sound of a family's laughter. No matter how much doubt crept into her heart, she clung to the belief that somewhere out there, her family existed. She held onto that glimmer of hope, the flicker of a dream that refused to be extinguished. And then, in June of 2022, Lady's life took a turn for the better. "The Pitty Committee" whisked her away from the shelter, ensuring that she would never face the threat of euthanasia again. From that moment on, Lady found herself in the serene atmosphere of South Lake Tahoe, where she has flourished under the loving care of her wonderful Foster Mama, Hailey! But, although Lady is safe from a dreaded shelter environment, her journey remains incomplete. She still waits for her forever family to find her.

Lady is more than just a dog; she's a lake-loving adventurer, a spirited soul who thrives on the joys of nature. She yearns for an active family, who will embrace her love for swimming, running, and frolicking in the sun and snow. Lady's heart knows no bounds when it comes to people of all ages. She adores children, and her boundless energy makes her the perfect playmate. She's a fetch aficionado, and her dock-jumping skills are nothing short of astounding. But what sets Lady apart is her unwavering loyalty, her eagerness to please, and her ability to melt your heart with a single glance. This beautiful girl has come a long way since leaving the shelter. She's crate trained, muzzle trained, and she listens to commands with a heart full of eagerness to please. She's not just a dog; she's a testament to the power of love and resilience. A promise of boundless joy to the family that opens their heart to her. Don't let Lady's story remain incomplete. She's been waiting and hoping for quite some time; she deserves a forever family to call her own. We ask that you consider Lady as the missing piece in your life, the companion who will make every moment brighter, and the love that will fill your heart. Complete your life with a furry friend who knows the true meaning of hope, love, and the promise of a forever home. Lady is waiting, and her love is worth the journey. Don't let her wait any longer; make her a part of your family, and create a story of love and happiness that will last a lifetime. Adopt Lady, and change both your lives forever! ♥

Story
Blackie is available for adoption in San Diego, California. A woman that rescues dogs in TJ found her roaming the streets. However, she has too many dogs (and cats) and landlord restrictions to keep her. So, Blackie is in a dire situation, and time is of the essence to find her forever home. Blackie's shown a beautiful personality towards dogs, cats, children and people in general. Sweet and eager to please, enjoys and appreciates her meals, and the attention she's getting, playful like any puppy, and shy. Very well behaved, which made us think at some point she had a home. According to the vet she's 10-12 months max. Blackie is under her rescuer care and was spaded yesterday 1/6/2026, available for adoption in 2-3 weeks of healing. We'd like to keep Blackie in San Diego County for welfare checks. Her rescuer called some shelters and was told that "Since Blackie is BLACK, her possibilities to be adopted are slim". Let's prove them wrong! Give Blackie a chance :)

Manny is a 3 year old pitbull/shepherd mix. We adopted him when he was a puppy. He is neutered, house trained, and knows basic commands. He would thrive with an active parent. He loves to chase the ball. Unfortunately, our lives have changed to the point where he no longer gets exercise. We are hoping to find him a home where his needs are met.
