My wife and I adopted Cookie from Animal Rescue in Hanover PA in 2018. She is currently 8 years old and approximately 35 lbs.. A year after adoption, my wife was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. We had to move to a farmette in Carroll County and I quit my job to care for my wife. Cookie spent the next 6 years on the farm with cats and had a great life on the farm.Follow my wife's death in 2025, I moved downtown into a condo to be closer to my new job. Cookie does not do well walking on a leash and my schedule does not allow me to be home much. She needs a larger place to live and run. We’re looking to rehome our 8 year old pup, Chewy. He’s house, crate, and leash trained, good with other dogs (after introduction) and kids, not sure about cats. Doesn’t require a ton of exercise, but enjoys a walk and the occasional game of fetch. He’s a good boy! But my job is relocating me and I can’t take him with. Comes with heartworm, flea, and tick prevention meds through August 2026. Up to date on all shots and vaccines and comes with a healthy supply of food and supplies; bowls, crate (if wanted), dog beds, toys, etc. Located in Annapolis. Somewhere with a yard is preferred, he knows how to use a doggy door!

Darby is a sweet girl. We adopted her from the San Antonio Humane Society in 2015. She is approximately 11 years old. She is very kind and does well with dogs and kids. She's only been around a couple of cats over the years, but was good with them too. Darby has been living with another dog for the past 7 years who is also up for adoption as well. She is a very easy going girl and loves attention, but seems to be very content with her alone time as well. Darby is in great health despite not seeing a vet on a regular basis. Unfortunately, I have to move and can't take her with me.

Story
Benson is five years old, neutered, in good health. and is the softest and fluffiest pup ever! He completed Basic Manners, Intermediate Manners and a Scent work for Fun class. He has lived with 4 other dogs. He is dog selective with unfamiliar dogs. He is reactive to kids. He is a cautious guy, very affectionate, loyal, attentive, an easy keeper with good manners, athletic-he can jump a 5ft fence, and oh so sweet! His canine brother started a fight with him in Oct 2025 and it ended with puncture wounds. It was a traumatic experience for everyone. The boys are currently living in separate spaces in the same house. After working with a behavioralist, a behavioral vet, and the boys living in different houses for 3 months, it has been decided that they cannot live safely with one another. Benson does enjoy and rely on another dog in the household if it's the right dog.Benson is the type of dog that looks into your soul and steals your heart.

He's a sweet dog most of the time, but can be very stubborn when he wants to be. I could no longer keep him because he would always be erratic towards strangers and other dogs. And this made my tenant feel very uncomfortable. He can be very playful, I just personally could not risk his behavior worsening while I have a tenant in the home. It pains me deeply to let him go, but it must be done. Please love my boy, I'm sure he will bring joy to whoever his new family is.
