Story
Meet Zig Zag Ziggy (Sammy) located in our DFW area! This bigger-than-life pup is rocking his way through the DFW area, and we believe a handsome Newfie from a neighboring property may be his dad! Originally adopted into a loving multi-dog home, Ziggy found himself a bit overwhelmed and unsure of his place. Now, he’s ready to take center stage in a home that can give him the structure and clarity he needs to shine truly. This young, playful guy is equal parts fun and focus. Ziggy lives for a good game, but what really makes him special is his love for having a job—he thrives on training, boundaries, and clear expectations. Guide him, and he’ll give you his whole heart (plus a happy dance and tail wag). He’s always up for playtime in the yard with his favorite toys, but he’s just as happy snuggling up on the sofa after a job well done. Smart, eager, and full of personality, Ziggy is already proving he’s a star both on and off the stage. Zig Zag Ziggy would do best in a home that understands large, young dogs and is committed to helping him build confidence through consistent training and structure. Apply today at TGPR.org to learn more about Zig Zag!

Story
Meet Barney! This pup was wondering around our community for weeks as a stray. Catching him wasn’t easy but let me tell ya, now that he’s had a taste of AC he’s never going back to the stray life haha. Barney in typical Great Pyrenees fashion is an absolute LOVER. He wants do be near his humans and he wants that Pyr fur all over you! Great with dogs big and small although not super playful. Definitely more of a wallflower with the occasional zoomie. Leash work is still a work in progress which for this breed is a lifelong project. What he lacks in that department however he makes up for in looks and charm. -House/Crate Trained -Good with other dogs -Over the top loving -Moderate energy -Loves being with his human. Barney is such a sweet and well tempered boy that woudl do best in a quiet house, as he can be a nervous nelly. We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Meet Champ – The Underdog Ready to Win Your Heart Champ isn't just his name- it's who he is. This 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix (71 lbs) has spent 375 days waiting as of 04/10/26, and through it all, he has never stopped believing that his person is out there. As one of our Diamond Dogs, his adoption fee is just $75- but the loyalty, devotion, and heart he brings are truly priceless. Champ is the kind of dog who forms a deep, unbreakable bond with his person. He is incredibly people-focused, always looking to connect, and thrives when he has someone to call his own. Once you're in his circle, you're everything to him. He walks beautifully on a leash, is intelligent and eager to learn, and does best with structure, routine, and confident leadership. Champ is not just looking for a home- he's looking for a teammate, someone who will guide him, believe in him, and let him be the loyal companion he was meant to be. Champ would do best in a home with older children or adults who are comfortable with a large, strong dog. He is not a match for homes with cats or small animals and will require a securely fenced yard (6Âפ ft, no chain link). He may do well with a submissive female dog or thrive as the only pet where he can fully focus on his person. After more than a year in the shelter, Champ is more than ready to step into the life he deserves- a life where he is no longer waiting, but finally home. Champ is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative as of 03/27/26. If you're looking for a dog who will stand by your side, be fiercely loyal, and give you his whole heart, Champ is ready to meet you. He's waited long enough- now it's his time to win. Story
Meet Molly, a 6-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who weighs approximately 93 pounds and is looking for the right home to match her loyal and intelligent personality. Molly was surrendered to our facility after she was not compatible with the other dogs in her previous home. She is very treat-motivated, knows several basic commands, walks well on a leash, and even knows some fun tricks like offering her paw for a “shake.” Molly appears to be both housebroken and crate trained, which should help make her transition into a new home smoother. As a middle-aged, extra-large breed dog, Molly prefers a calmer environment and is past the stage of puppy antics. Because of this, she would do best in a home with children 16 years or older, or in an adult-only household. Molly does not do well with female dogs but may coexist with a calm, large-breed male. If you currently have a large male dog in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure they are a good match. Molly's adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on her rabies vaccination, and up to date on basic boosters. If you are interested in meeting Molly, please submit an adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/our-pets/available-dogs/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX.
