Hello, my name is Cricket! I am a 11 week old male Lab/Great Pyr mix that weighs around 22lbs.I was found with what is presumed to be my sibling off State Highway 276 in Rockwall County on 7/16/26. Unfortunately, nobody came to reclaim me, so I came to the Rockwall Adoption Center to find my forever home. I am a sweet, affectionate puppy who would love a family with the time and patience to help me grow into a wonderful companion. I have been diagnosed with ringworm, which is a common and treatable fungal skin infection, not a worm. It can spread to people and other animals through direct contact, so I will remain contagious until August 16, 2026. I have already started treatment, and my adopter will simply need to continue my medication until it is complete. My adoption fee is $125 and includes my spay, rabies vaccine, microchip, Bord/Dappv boosters to date, and dewormer. Please note: I am required to return to the Rockwall Adoption Center on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for my neuter surgery and rabies vaccine. This appointment is mandatory and part of my adoption contract. Barry has a lot more of a white Lab build and coat, but still total Pyrenees couch potato energy, even as a puppy! His foster family affectionately calls him 'Butter Bear' because he is so sweet and squishy. He is sweet with people. He can be a little bashful, but will give you gentle kisses and snuggles. He did great at our recent adoption event meeting lots of little kids and adults, he didn't jump up on anyone and ended up laying down calmly. Barry is great with dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with the large dogs in his foster home. He hasn't been tested with cats or small dogs, but his foster family thinks he would do well with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Barry is very go with the flow. He is house trained. He walks beautifully on the leash, keeping a perfect strolling pace! He gets a little nervous during car rides and will drool a lot. He has been with his foster family since he was a young puppy found on the streets, so he will need his forever family to be patient with him while he settles in. The older he has gotten the more we think he is a Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd mix. He currently weights around 35lbs, we think he will grow up to be around 70-80lbs. Mongo loves being near his people and dog friends. He isn't great with little kids but would be fine with older children. He isn't a big cuddler or lap dog but he enjoys being pet and sleeping near his pack. He will talk back to you and enjoys having a 'conversation.' He gets along well with the other dogs in his home but sometimes requires slow introductions with new dogs as he is unsure. He is still a puppy, so with more positive exposure to dogs he should grow out of his hesitation. The only cat he has met, hates dogs, so Mongo is cautious around cats and will run away if hissed at. Mongo walks well on the leash and enjoys car rides. He likes to play with toys and in water. He is potty trained. He is very smart and food motivated, so learns things quickly. Although with his sassy attitude and a typical 'Pyrenees' stubbornness, he doesn't always listen. He is crate trained but sometimes has a lengthy conversation with you about if he wants to get in. Mongo will be a great addition to a home with another playful dog that is looking for a fun companion that provides entertainment, conversation, and is down for an adventure.
