Story
Geordi is a pointer-beagle mix with the sweetest heart you've ever known. Though fully-grown, he is still full of puppy energy and loves to bound around the dog park and the yard. He knows how to "sit" and knows that "off" means both "off" and "no." A major cuddlebug, once he calms down from his excitement at seeing you, he is a good little spoon and will tuck his snout under your arm and rest easy. Though I wanted to be able to care for Geordi for his whole life, recent job circumstances have made it untenable for me to continue caring for him past September 2025. I want him to go to a loving, patient home with owners who understand that he is still quite young at 2 years of age and thus needs patience and understanding. He *wants* to be good, but doesn't always know how. Geordi is a very good boy at heart and he will make you laugh every day with his goofiness and his lovable demeanor.

Story
Energetic, adorable, and lovable, Lassie is everything you want in a canine companion. She loves to run, play, and sniff, and she loves people! Lassie is a 35 pound, petite beauty with distinctive black spots down her little white back. She is a tail-wagging, treat-loving good time. And her intelligence and love for treats will make her easy to train! Lassie was an owner surrender in PG county. The owner suggested a placement without children, but another dog would be great for Lassie as she is always happy to engage a playmate. A yard with a fence is an absolute must for this active little climber, and walks and hikes are great too. Lassie is game for an adventure, she loves to ride in the car, and she wants to be outside to explore the world around her and all of its good smells. Lassie's foster says that Lassie is very engaged, she loves to run, and she actively seeks out love and attention. Lassie's short term foster said that Lassie is full of love, energy and interest in her world! She is funny and smart, and that she has no problem figuring out her surroundings.  Lassie would love to be in a long-term foster home while she is looking for her forever people. This little Lassie does calm down after a good romp. She is very people-focused and she will seek out her person for a quiet snuggle or nap. Lassie is crate- and house-trained. She would love the chance to show you how fun life can be with her by your side! PAW adopts dogs in the MD, VA, and DC region ##2368933##

Story
Ringo is a 3-year-old energetic and loving family dog. He was raised alongside another female dog and has no history of aggression or biting. He loves children—he plays gently with my 2-year-old son and is very kid-friendly. Ringo is also a good watchdog and will bark when he hears someone near the house. He’s very obedient and well-behaved. You can leave him out of his crate all day and return to a clean home—he doesn’t chew furniture or shoes, and he's fully house-trained. His favorite toys are balls, and he’ll happily play fetch for hours. Due to my increasingly busy schedule and upcoming travel, I’m no longer able to give him the time and attention he deserves. I’m looking for a loving home where he’ll be cared for and appreciated. Ringo will be a wonderful addition to any family.

Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play!KENTUCKY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Kentucky and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (05/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name:  Kentucky       Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer and lab mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years 6 mos as of February 2024   Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:    51 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids. Kentucky is a bit too interested in his feline friends so a home without cats is best. Currently Living At: DC area foster home Kentucky is Looking For: His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Kentucky is a very sweet, loving and good boy. He is high energy, playful, a little clumsy, and a giant goofball but he loves affection and attention, loves being outside, and loves being near me. He is doing great walking on leash and has been a wonderful running and hiking companion. He is very food motivated and loves to play with other dogs - he has gotten along great with another dog in the home. Chew toys, playing ball, and veggies (yes really!) are his favorite. He is so happy and a very sweet dog! Medical: Kentucky was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Kentucky has completed the treatment and exercise restriction phase, and is now awaiting his 6-month follow up test.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
