Story
Current Location: Manassas, VA Meet Carlos (Charlie): A Confident, Fun Loving Boy Ready for Adventure Carlos, affectionately known as Charlie, is a confident, fun loving boy who is always ready for whatever the day brings. He greets the world with enthusiasm and charm and loves everyone he meets, both people and dogs. This love bug brings playful energy when it's time to move, then happily settles in on his dog bed once the fun winds down. Home Manners and Training He rides well in the car, eats very well, and does well in his crate. He is treat motivated and already knows sit and no. He enjoys learning, especially when food and praise are involved, making training sessions rewarding and fun. Playful and Social Carlos loves spending time with other dogs and is socialized and great with people. He loves to play hard, running in a yard and playing with a soft toy. He'll even play fetch! He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard for off leash play or with an active person who enjoys walks, hiking, or outdoor adventures. With his medium energy level, he doesn't require marathon outings, just good quality time and movement. He would do best in a home where he is included in the daily activities of his family. Carlos is a joyful, affectionate companion who is ready to bring fun, loyalty, and personality into the right home. Apply to meet him and see firsthand why he is so easy to love!

Story
Gracie is just the sweetest, happiest puppy! She's old enough to be past the super nibbling stage but young enough to learn all her tricks with you! Gracie absolutely loves every person, child and dog she meets! She can play hard and nap with the best of them! She has a sweet soul. She's a 40-ish pound pointer mix, has a lean build, and is probably around 10 months old. If you're looking for a playmate and snuggle buddy, Gracie may be your girl!

Story
Roxy came to us from a very sad situation living a life outside and often tied up. She was loaded with ticks, and during her spay surgery it was discovered she had early stage Lyme disease. She is now treated for it and is ready to find her own loving forever home where she can be part of a family. Roxy is a 1-year old puppy, Pointer and American Staffordshire Terrier mix who currently weighs 45 lbs. She is people and dog friendly and has no reactivity towards cats on her walks. She has been around children age 12 and up and has been very cuddly with them right from the start. However, she is a fearful initially of strangers and will try to hide and avoids them. It will take her a little time to get used to new people in her life. Once she feels safe and comfortable around them, Roxy becomes a total love bug wanting cuddles and belly rubs and gives lots of kisses in return. When Roxy arrived at her foster home she exhibited some separation anxiety when left alone overnight inside her crate. But she is getting so much better about it and is getting used to the routine. We think it would be helpful for Roxy to find a home where someone works from home most of the time or is home with her during the day. She is used to sleeping inside her crate at night and is doing well with it now. She would also benefit having a fenced yard where she can run and play off leash with another dog. She loves to play with dogs and her toys, and chew on her chew toys. Roxy walks well on a leash and enjoys her walks. She also loves playing with her fury friends big and small at her foster home. She seems to enjoy being in water, baths not so much but will tolerate them. If you think you can provide a patient and loving home for Roxy, please send an email to NeedfulSoulsDogRescue@gmail.com or respond to this post.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SHEILA is a wonderful 2yo female dog. She is a German Pointer/Spaniel mix. She weighs 47#s but is not very tall…kind of average. She is sweet, loving, affectionate, and just easy to get along with. My neighbor called her "a big, goofy, friendly type" as he scratched her back and got snuggles from her. She’s a little strong on the leash but she loves to go places, ride in the car and has no aggressiveness at all. We watch her play tug-or-war with one of dogs who is half her size. She just lays out on her stomach and looks like a sled and the other dogs pulls her through the house. It's hilarious! She is house trained; will stay in a kennel; loves to go outside, run and play gets along with all my dogs and my 4 cats. I deal with a lot of dogs but every now and then I find special dogs…dogs that make great family pets. She is one of those. Her past history included lots of children in the neighborhood. She doesn’t chew on things; doesn’t dig; doesn’t climb. Since we have had her we have taught her not to jump on people. That was her only fault and she’s doing great now. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/2Mc0uLNHGKE This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. Larry is an adorable, sweet boy who has a way of brightening anyone’s day with his happy personality, affectionate nature, and eagerness to show you everything he knows. Larry and his two brothers, Luke and Diego, found themselves where no puppy should ever be - a very full shelter in Alabama. Thankfully, K-9 Lifesavers stepped in just in time, and now Larry is safe, thriving, and ready to find his forever family. Could that be you?Larry is a handsome pointer mix (best guess) with an adorable white coat sprinkled with charming brown spots. But his good looks are only part of what makes him special. Larry is affectionate, joyful, incredibly smart, and eager to please. He is highly food motivated and has already graduated from a six-month training program where he learned an impressive list of skills, including sit, lie down, touch, wait, leave it, loose-leash walking, and waiting at doors and for meals until he receives his release cue. His recall cue is “here,” and when he hears it, Larry comes right away!Larry is also fully house trained and does well during alone time, making him a wonderful companion both inside and out. He absolutely loves people and enjoys other dogs. While he could happily live with a female canine companion, Larry would also be perfectly content as your one and only dog. When it’s time to have fun, Larry is all in! He loves playing with chew toys, playing tug-of-war, and exploring the world alongside his person. And when the adventure is over, he’s more than happy to snuggle up for some cuddles and belly scratches. He has the perfect combination of playful energy and affectionate sweetness. This wonderful boy has so much love to give. Larry is ready to be someone’s devoted companion, best friend, adventure buddy, and cuddlebug. He truly has the potential to be an amazing lifelong companion who will forever change his adopter’s life - just as they will change his.  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
