Chip is practically a pro at fetch already and he is going to be OBSESSED when he grows up. He’s an active little guy who loves his toys. He’s quite good at keeping himself entertained. If you’d rather throw the ball in the yard or go to agility class instead of walks, he’s the pup for you! His favorite place to be is on top of you. Napping on the couch next to you is an acceptable alternative in his opinion. He hasn’t met many people or dogs so he’s still a little shy but he’s getting braver every day. Especially if that new friend happens to have a tennis ball or frisbee! He cries a little bit when he goes into the crate but quickly settles down and is comfortable hanging out by himself in there. He learned to go potty outside in just 2 days and will throw himself at the door to let you know he wants out. He would probably learn to ring a bell to go out just as fast. His only accidents now are if you don’t make it to the door in time.

Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus- needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. Special adoption considerations: Randy is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now!
