DORA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Dora and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (June 4th) from 12-3 pm at the Potomac Yard PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name: Dora   Best Guess for Breed:  Pointer mix   Best Guess for Age:  1 year 4 months as of 5/1/23 (born January 2022)      Sex: Female   Estimated Weight: 44.5 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or children but she can be tested.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   All about Dora: Dora has been a Lucky Dog since she was a wee pup, one of a litter of 10. She was adopted in March of 2022 and was in a home with a canine sibling for well over a year. She sadly had to come back to us and is now in a loving foster home. She's a young girl, just shy of a year and a half old, and has all that awesome young-dog energy. In her previous home, long walks and visits to dog parks helped burn off that joyful exuberance. She is eager to once again have her very own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all those world-exploration excursions. Trips to the beach, the mountains, Starbucks for pup cups? Yes, please! And all the toys too, please! She was good in the crate with her previous adopters and continues to be so in her current foster home. Her foster loves her and had a lot to say about her (see below).    What Dora wants most of all is to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof for all her days. In exchange, she promises tail wags and adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Dora the active companion you've been seeking?  What My Foster Says About Me:  Dora is fitting in wonderfully. She is very affectionate - a big kisser to the humans and other dogs in the house! She loves being outside and going for walks. Right now she's learning the lay of the land and is looking to our dogs for direction - her confidence will continue to build. She's still overall just a happy dog, and some training or obedience school will help her self-confidence. Hi my name is Mia and I am looking for my forever home.  I am a 4 year old English Pointer/American Bulldog mix.  I was thrilled when I got to go somewhere and super excited when I realized that I was going to meet Santa.  I have been such a good girl this year as I have been patiently waiting for my forever family to find me.  Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas.  I only want one thing.  All I want for Christmas is a forever family.  I truly am a great girl.  If you are an active couple or family looking for the perfect dog then you have found her in me.  I am super sweet, loving and very smart.  I am a lean 50 lbs and the ultimate athlete.  I love to walk and am great on a leash.  I also love to run and zoomies are my favorite.  MI would love a family that will take me for walks and for runs and who also has a big fenced in yard where I can perform my zoomies!  You will be amazed by my speed and agility.   I am also very smart.  I know sit, stay, lay and will go into my crate when told (though not her favorite place).  I am a very social dog and want to be with my people.  I am happy laying on the sofa next to you to watch a ball game and would love a pillow on your bed where I can lay my head.  I will try not to take up most of the room!!  I am the ultimate family dog and want to be involved in whatever is going on.  Trip to Home Depot and I am in the car.  Just going for a drive, I am ready for that too.  Going to the park or on a hike, I am ready and a great companion.  If you prefer a dog walker, I will be ready when they come.  I can spend a little while alone but would really prefer someone to be home.  I would also prefer to be an only dog.  I love my humans and want all the attention.  I has been spayed and am current on all my shots and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Mia is actually in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)June 1, 2023, 10:46 pm
