Story
Location: Hastings, MN Hi, I’m Katya! I’m a big, beautiful, majestic creature that recently arrived from the Rez. I have beautiful eyes and a big fluffy husky coat. My foster mom says my nickname is Maleficent for my large, unique size and calm, collected demeanor. I have met a few dogs now, and I am friendly but also take time to build trust. Once I do, I warm up and start to get playful. I’ve really grown to love my foster sister. My foster home has kitties; at first I was unsure but I’ve really warmed up to them. I just keep my distance and go about my way. I do not chase, so I could live in a home with a calm, cool cat. I’m very relaxed and enjoy chewing on a bone and napping on the deck especially on the chilly days. I have low energy, but also love a good run around the yard. I am searching for a calm, happy home to settle down in and grow to be an amazing family member and partner. If you think that’s you, then I would love to meet you! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Prior Lake, MN Hi, I’m Tonie! I’m just one big happy girl who is eager to please and play. I recently arrived from the Rez and really enjoy running around the yard getting my zoomies out. I am starting to play catch with my foster mom, and really loving playing with toys. I have some energy, so an active family will be best for me to thrive. I can also be relaxed, and love to chew on a bone and take a good nap in the sun. Especially on the chillier days I love sleeping outside, it feels like home. I’m am very dog friendly, eager to make friends and have play dates. I am so happy to be safe and loved. I have grown fond of the kids here and they love to play with calling me the “husky police dog. ” I am working on my training - learning to not be so jumpy and to sit! I have a lot of motivation to listen to commands and come to my name very well. I’m continuing my crate training but do very well in my own area with a bed. Overall, I am such a spunky happy girl with a lot of potential to grow into a fantastic dog with some good training and lots of love. If you’re looking for a fun, happy go lucky girl, then that could be me! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Buffalo, MN Looking for a dog that likes to keep your yard clean and jump the fence to poop in the neighbors? Don't worry, she comes right back. Or one that enjoys cats - to the point she licks them. Oh and people.. if you need daily hugs, she will give them to you! Snuggles? She's got them. Not great in a kennel? Her too. Looking for a dog to put a fun eye patch on? She'll let ya since she can't see out of one side (aka the eye is gone) Dogs? Yup she likes them too. She likes to play rough . It makes up for the missing eye. Office friend? She's your girl and watches you (depending what side her head is if its the one with an eye or not) quietly slave away to pay for a sturdy kennel, food, and paying the neighbors for pooping in their yard. Don't like dog kisses? She's not for you then. Walking on a leash? Story
Location: Northfield, MN Shalla is an old soul with a youthful heart. There’s a gentle wisdom about her that’s apparent the moment you see her—but step closer, and she’ll happily surprise you with joyful hops and rapid‑fire kisses. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you that some hearts stay forever young. Shalla has spent much of her life being a devoted mama, and now it’s her turn to be cared for. And care for her you will—because she is stunning. From her beautifully lined eyes to her glowing golden coat, she turns heads wherever she goes. We aren’t quite sure of her breed, but she has the majestic face of a wolf paired with big, elegant paws—though she’s not especially tall. Her coat is thick, sleek, and surprisingly easy to maintain considering how full it is. Shalla would thrive in a home with people around most of the time. She loves kids and enjoys being part of the action. She’s polite with other dogs—she likes them well enough but doesn’t necessarily need a canine companion to be happy. What she does need is togetherness. Shalla doesn’t love being alone, and adopters should be prepared to use a heavy‑duty crate and possibly medication when away from home. Aside from that, she is an amazing, well‑behaved dog who simply wants to be close to her people. And yes—we know you’re wondering—she has had zero accidents. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will soak up every moment by your side, Shalla is ready to finally be someone’s “baby.” --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Howard Lake, MN Hi, I'm Gerald! (The Gentle Giant) I am a super sweet, all-around good boy. People tell me I am just a little puppy trapped inside a big dog body. I know the big scar above my left eye is the first thing you notice when you look at me. You might assume a big boy like me was a top dog in dog fighting or used as a bait dog, but that is the furthest from the truth. The story behind my scar might break your heart, but I can promise you it hasn’t broken my spirit. I was starved of love in my past, which just means I am making up for lost time and am ready to receive all the love you have to give! I am still learning how to be a real dog, and I am finding out that life is actually pretty amazing. I am as easy to please as he is to love! My Ideal Home: - Kid-Friendly: I am excellent with smaller kids. However, I truly do not know my own strength. On rare occasions, I can get a little too rambunctious, so keep an eye on me around the little ones. - Dog-Friendly: I am fantastic with other dogs and great with puppies, though my foster parent suggests monitoring puppy playtime. - Pack Style: I can be your only dog, but I would absolutely thrive with a large alpha dog to look up to. I am definitely not an alpha male myself. - Daily Flow: I am completely house-trained. I will vocalize and let you know when I need to go potty or when I am ready to play! My Absolute Favorite Things: - The Outdoors: I love being outside feeling the fresh air. - New Games: I recently realized that playing tug-of-war is actually a game, and guess what? I am really good at it! - Toys: I love balls of all kinds, squeaky or silent. I also adore carrying and chewing my stuffies. - Food: Food is life! I will do just about anything for a tasty treat. Warning: I learn very fast exactly where the treat cupboard is located. My One Little Fear: - Please don't spray me with the garden hose on full blast. It scares me, so let's stick to gentle splashes instead. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Mya was 1 year old when we adopted her in 2022. She’s a good Girl. We adopted her for our daughters. With one child heading off to college and one who is crazy busy all the time we just don’t have the time to give Mya the attention she deserves. Mya does just about anything for a treat. She knows how to sit, lay down, target, shake, and many other fun tricks. She is potty trained. She never has an accident inside even when our busy schedules neglect to let her out properly. She loves pets and people. She is great with our girls and loves to run around and play with her stuffy. She doesn’t jump on people or growl. She does bark occasionally but it’s a one time bark to let you know she needs to go potty. We love Mya and we just want to see her go to a good home who will love her as well. Somewhere with a fenced yard she can run and play. A home that will give her lots of love and attention. All the things she used to get here before our lives got so busy.

Story
Sleet is a happy, outgoing Lab, Husky and Beagle mix born in rescue on March 14. From day one, he has been cherished and loved. He is a funny guy! One of his favorite moves is a play bow, then his rips off running across the yard. He's cuddly, loving and very sweet. In his foster home, Sleet has been exposed to cats, kids, and other dogs. He’s been on adventures in the car and met lots of different people. He crates nicely, and with a later evening potty break, he sleeps through the night in the crate! He has a head start on potty training and loves to come running full tilt when called. He is ready to find a home that wants to incorporate him into everything they do. Sleet currently weighs about 14# and will be the perfect size for accompanying his people everywhere. He wants to take obedience classes to learn nice manners. He needs to learn all things puppy: walking nicely on leash, seeing new sights and sounds, and experiencing the world. Ongoing socialization will ensure he can lead the life he was meant to. The best fit for Sleet is an active family who sees a dog as a 4-legged family member. They are patient and love to laugh, because with Sleet around, they definitely will! They can provide potty breaks every 2-3 hours at his young age. He could live with a canine sibling or as an only pup with an engaged family. He would love a fenced yard for safe play and exploration and is also suited for a home with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash. Children old enough to understand how to redirect his puppy teeth are a good fit. Sleet can’t wait to meet his forever family and dive right into his new, exciting life! APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Sleet is being fostered in Minnetrista, MN. Sleet's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax (this includes his neuter). He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Sleet's siblings Elsa, Blizzard, Snowy and Flurry are also available for adoption. Find all their bios at hoabcr.org (click on Adoptable Dogs)
