Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Astro Sex: Male Color: Grey/White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 01/02/26 Weight: 14.6 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: Working on it. Astro makes a lot of noise when he initially goes in the crate, but eventually settles down. He loves having a kong with frozen PB while in his crate. We have not yet started nighttime crate training. Housebroken: Not yet. He knows what he is supposed to do outside but has not yet learned how to alert his humans. Energy Level: High Reaction to New People: Friendly but timid. Warms up quickly. Kid Friendly: Unknown Training: Astro has learned "sit". Working on "come" and "stay" and learning how to walk with a harness and leash. Grooming Needs: I am not sure what his coat will look like in adulthood, but one should be prepared to brush daily with a lot of shedding. Fence: Yes, a fence with a minimum height of 5' will definitely be needed. Solo or Siblings: Astro would do best in a home with high energy siblings From the Foster: Astro is a playful and loving pup with a heart as big as his energy levels. He spends his days wrestling and running with his foster siblings and learning what it means to be a "good boy." He currently excels at "sit" and has a solid recall—though, in true Husky fashion, he may "filter" your calls if a squirrel or a leaf looks more interesting. Astro is looking for a patient home that understands the breed. He’s a smart boy who knows that "outside" is for potty time, though he’s still working on his communication skills when he needs to go. While he is crate training, he currently prefers the comfort of a human bed at night. Astro thrives with other dogs. He loves rough-and-tumble play and would do best in a home with canine siblings who can keep up and teach him the ropes. Finally, Astro has shown a propensity for digging so please be prepared to provide a safe and appropriate digging area for him (i.e., sandbox, etc). Astro is the sweetest pup! He loves to cuddle at your feet or in your lap in between his "zoomies" and playtime! Adoption Fee: $450 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
