Story
Hi! I’m Baby Ray — a cute, sweet, and slightly chaotic little guy looking for my forever home! I’m currently about 15 lbs and will most likely be around 25 lbs full grown, which makes me the perfect medium-sized adventure buddy. My favorite hobbies include collecting sticks like tiny treasures, lovingly destroying stuffies, and showing off my Olympic-level zoomies in the yard. Seriously… I’m FAST. Blink and you might miss me! I’m playful, goofy, and always ready to make you laugh. After I’m done zooming around, I’m happy to hang out and soak up all the love and attention I can get. I’ve already started crate training and I’m doing really well with potty training too — pretty impressive for a puppy if you ask me! ⭐ If you’re looking for a fun, happy, slightly silly best friend, I’m your boy! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bandit, a handsome young pug with an adventurous streak and a heart full of love! Born around May 14, 2024, this sweet 18.4-pound boy was found exploring a local subdivision, charming multiple neighbors along the way. While everyone wanted to help the little runaway, Bandit proved himself to be quite the escape artist, cleverly digging out of various yards in his determined quest to find the action! Bandit is a true social butterfly. His main goal in life is to be right where the people are. When he gets loose, he doesn't run away; he rushes towards companionship! He is looking for a secure yard and a family who will give him plenty of attention and keep him close by, satisfying his deep desire to be part of the pack. Bandit has been fully vetted and is now receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, a common tick-borne disease discovered during his initial exam. He is doing great and just needs to complete his 30-day course of medication. He's on the mend and ready for his fresh start. This resilient, people-loving pug is eager to trade his days of solo adventures for a lifetime of cozy cuddles and family fun. If you’re looking for a loyal, friendly companion who promises to keep you entertained and loved, Bandit is eagerly waiting to steal your heart! You can apply for Bandit at www.adoggie4you.org.  His adoption fee is $350.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi!! I’m Petey! I’m an adorable pug/Dachshund mix, and I made my way here after a stay at Bandera Animal Control—but honestly, I’m just focused on the good stuff now… like PLAYTIME. I’ve got a big personality packed into a little body, and I’m full of energy and fun. I LOVE to play. Toys? Yes, please—all of them. I’ll chase them, toss them, and keep myself (and you) entertained. I’ve always got a little bounce in my step, and I’m happiest when I’m running around or right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. I’m super friendly and love everyone I meet, so making new friends is kind of my thing. I do get excited (okay, really excited), and I might bark to let you know just how happy I am—but that’s just me being me! Life is exciting, and I’m here for it. After I’ve burned off some energy, I’m more than happy to hang out and soak up attention. I just love being part of the action. I might need a little help with potty training at first, but I’m a smart guy and with some patience and consistency, I’ll get the hang of it in no time. My adoption fee is $400. If you want to take me home, apply at www.adoggie4you.org. I’m currently in Texas, but I can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. Story
Sam is a sweet pug looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Sam is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he is longing to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Sam s a friendly gentle guy He needs a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking. Pugs tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, Sam is friendly, wags his tail and then retreats, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to know he can move forward without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations he will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Sam important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Sam is fully vetted. She has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $800..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Sam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Sam, please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster volunteer group. We are not a brick and mortar, There is no building to come and view dogs. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Sam , please consider a donation for her food, housing, and veterinary care. Story
Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. The Perfect Home for Ian: • An active home that enjoys play, laughter, and a little chaos • A consistent adopter who can manage his simple medical routine • A respectful dog companion—or he’d love being your one and only • Someone who appreciates a quirky, lovable personality Ian isn’t just a dog—he’s an experience. He’ll make you laugh daily, keep life interesting, and then curl up next to you like he’s always belonged there. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
