Who can say "no" to that little pug face with underbite!  Sadly, Boots was an owner surrender due to family health issues.   He is estimated to be 6 years old and is just shy of 20lbs. More information to come soon as he gets settled! We recommend training for all our dogs!     **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Another collaboration with Paws for Life K9 and Wings of Rescue to bring in 17 pups and dogs this weekend - mostly all small in stature with ages ranging from 8 weeks through 10 years!   Sooty's name describes this cute black/charcoal boy! He is estimated to be 1 year old and weighs between 15-17lbs.   Sooty is on the submissive side and gets along with both dogs and cats! Please note that he  will try to run out any time he sees an open door and the foster family is working on that.  More information to come soon as he gets settled! His ARF name is Winthrop, but the name he knows is Winston. If you are still interested, please read more below. Winston is a loving dog who looks like a puppy but is really a 9-year-old handsome fella! He has a very sweet temperament and loves people. He loves leisurely walks and will sniff the ground beagle style for as long as he is allowed! He is housebroken and used to be alone every day. He is used to living with a loving human who walks him in the AM and PM and having a visit from a dog walker one time during the day. Winston is not great with other dogs but can usually be diverted when out for a walk. Winston’s perfect home would be one looking for a special companion. He would be fine with a single person. He would also function well with a house full of kids as he began life with a family of 5 children and lots of activity. This distinguished gentleman is looking for a home where he can live out the rest of his years and in return he will love you with all his heart. Story
Sam is a sweet pug looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Sam is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he is longing to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Sam s a friendly gentle guy He needs a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking. Pugs tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, Sam is friendly, wags his tail and then retreats, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to know he can move forward without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations he will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Sam important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Sam is fully vetted. She has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $800..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Sam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits.
