Story
We bought Wilson from a breeder when he was a puppy. He is now 3.5years old and needs a family who will have time to train him and play with him. We have another older dog in the home and the two have been battling for alpha in the home by way of marking. Wilson does well with urinating outside but if left to freely roam in the home he needs to be monitored for urinating. He gets overly excited when he sees other dogs and barks at them. He has started biting the fence when the neighbor dog comes outside. He has a lot of energy and it is difficult for us to take him for walks with 2 young children. He has not been properly trained which we think he would benefit greatly from. He sleeps with our son in his bed and does well with the kids, but again is overly excited most of the time. We are hoping to find a home where he will get more attention and walks to be able to enjoy his life to the fullest.

Story
Tiger is a pug mix estimated to be about 6 years old. He found his way to us due to no fault of his own, after his owner passed away. Though this must be such a confusing time for him he has truly been adjusting so well! Tiger does well with both dogs and kids. He has not been cat tested but he is respectful to everyone he meets so we don't see this being an issue! (We can cat test if needed.) He is very adaptable and can do well in any home because he is truly only here for the vibes. He is potty/house trained. He is working on crate training but could also do well left out. If his forever home does not include another dog (a resident dog is not required) we would not recommend an apartment as he does get a little unsettled in his crate alone. If there is another dog he is calm and quiet in his crate. He is leash trained and enjoys going on walks. His adoption fee does include his up to date vaccinations, neuter, heartworm test, "senior" blood panel and microchip. If you would like to be considered for Tiger apply here directly! If you have any questions please feel free to email adopt@chicgaorescueauthority.org. If you are viewing from adopt-a-pet to be considered a potential home for this dog please head to our website www.chicagorescueauthority.org and click on our adopt tab to apply directly!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Introducing Nemo, the handsome male black pug with a heart as big as his affectionate personality! Born around March 27, 2021, Nemo embarked on life's adventures alongside his dear companion, Dory, a lovely female pug. Their journey together took an unexpected turn when they were owner-surrendered due to their previous owner's health concerns. Nemo is the epitome of charm and friendliness. He adores people and has a knack for making everyone he meets feel special. His favorite spot is nestled in your lap, where he can shower you with love and soak up all the attention in return.  He like to take walks, but he gets excited and tends to pull on the leash.  This dashing pug weighs approximately 25.0 pounds, a testament to his hearty appetite for life. While he may have faced a health challenge with a heartworm-positive diagnosis, Nemo is undergoing treatment with ProHeart 12 and a 30-day course of Doxycycline to ensure his well-being. Rest assured, he's in good hands and will be retested in six months to monitor his progress. Nemo's adoption fee of $500 includes his ProHeart heartworm treatment, a small investment in exchange for the boundless love and joy he'll bring to his forever family. While he gets along famously with his sister Dory and most female dogs, Nemo's a bit selective with his male companions, preferring to charm the ladies. He plays well with most males, but occasionally, he may exhibit some alpha tendencies. If you're searching for a devoted companion who will steal your heart with his irresistible charm and unwavering loyalty, Nemo is the perfect match for you. Don't miss the chance to welcome this lovable pug into your life!  You can apply for Nemo at www.adoggie4you.org   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
This fun boy was part of a forced surrender group but he shows no mean signs of his neglect. He is friendly and a lot of fun. He loves to play!! Definite terrier energy and a great boy to hang around with. He loves people and other dogs, although his barking to get others to play with him does tend to have the opposite effect. He is not mean and does well sharing. He likes any sort of toy but does have a short attention span with them. He would do well with any type of household but will need the basic training of being inside, we don’t think he was inside at all. He does spill his food out and will chew any bed given to him, it will take some time for him to get used to any of that. A house with kids that like to run and play would work great with him or any active family that can wear him out. He is a love and is waiting to share it all with a new family to call his own. We also use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Rudy is a 1.5 year old, 40lb terrier/pug mix looking for his new home! He loves to run around investigating the grounds and rolling around in the grass. He has great form with summersaults too. Rudy is a nervous dog who will need a less busy home with plenty of patience. Ideally, he would do best with someone with experience with nervous dogs. He needs consistency and routines so he can comfortably expect what is coming.
