Story
Meet the squishy Diddy! He is elligible for foster-to-adopt!! Diddy is a 7 year old, 28lbs puggle mix from the Bronx. We received Diddy as a diverted intake from the local ACC in order to prevent him from going into the overcrowded shelter system.  Diddy unfortunately has dealt with a lot in the last couple years for our knowledge. Before coming to us we know he was passed around to multiple homes and people. Due to that, Diddy can be a bit of a nervous nelly. Hes got a lot of energy but hasn’t had much routine or structure in his life so he doesn’t know where to put.  For the last several weeks Diddy has been brushing up on his good boy skills with our trainer! We have learned Diddy is such a lover boy when his needs are properly met. He enjoys frequent games of tug & fetch with his person, as well as long walks exploring the neighborhood. He’s incredibly food motivated, as most pug mixes are, which makes his training that much easier! He enjoys working for his meals throughout the day whether on walks or learning some basic obedience.  Diddy can be great with other dogs with some management. He’s quite pushy with others and may not understand when other dogs want a break from playing with him. He’s looking for an owner who is aware or willing to learn how to read dog body language and intervene if Diddy is getting a little too excited with his canine friends.  Diddy has been trained using balanced methods and has thrived. His new owner will get two free training sessions to help acclimate him to his new environment. We strongly believe Diddy will be the type of dog to need few months of decompression and structure as he’s experienced so much uncertainty in his life he can be an anxious boy. While not a requirement, we do think Diddy would be more comfortable in a quieter neighborhood with an active family. Diddy is up to date on vaccines and prevention. He is scheduled for neuter on 4/24. Should he be adopted before this date his adopters will need to bring him to and from the appointment (2455 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11223). To apply for Diddy, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##1972553##

Story
Hi!  My name is Bryce and I am looking for a forever home.  I was surrendered to a shelter by my previous owners and as an owner surrender, I was at the top of something bad called "the list".  Fortunately, BCAA heard about me and said they would help me  ... yeah!  When I first arrived at the shelter, I was super scared and shy; but a nice worker spent some time with me and showed me that people could be nice and now my foster mom says I'm a regular little social butterfly.  No one is exactly sure of my breed mix but the best guess is pug 'cause of my cute curly Q tail and general build and next possibly a small lab; whatever I'm mixed with, my foster mom says I'm a cute boy with a really engaging personality.  I am about 2years old and weigh 29.5lbs ... not too small and not too big!  I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and haven't really paid any attention to the cats.   While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding (I will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you).  I love going for walks and other than initially pulling when we first go out, I do pretty good on a leash.  I love my food and treats which I take gently and will be great for any future training you might want to do together.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Hi!  My name is Celeste and I am looking for a forever home. I was discovered by a postman living under a porch with my 2-day old puppies.  'Cause it was really cold, two of my puppies had passed away and I was doing my best to keep my remaining ones warm.  The postman asked my owners why we were outside and they told him they really didn't want us and wouldn't be bringing us inside.  He asked them if he could help us and when they said yes, BCAA said they would help all of us  ... yeah!  All of my puppies have found forever homes and now it's my turn.  I was really shy when I first arrived at my foster home but my foster parents have been really nice and patient with me and my puppies and now I love being around them, even their 6-year old little boy, the other dogs and even the cat.  No one is exactly sure of my breed mix but the best guess is pug 'cause of my cute pug-like face, and possibly dachshund 'cause of my general build.  I am about 14-months old and weigh around 20lbsbs ... not too small and not too big!  While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding.  Once I learn I can trust you, I do pretty good on leash.  I enjoy my food and take treats gently.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Meet Arlo! This handsome little squish face Pug is 4 years old and weighs 17 pounds. Arlo is as fun as he is cute! He loves to play and will never turn down a chance to be the center of attention. He lights up every room he is in and is great with all humans and dogs big and small. He even does great with the cats! Arlo does well in a crate but could still use some work on potty training while in the crate and in the house, and could use a little more work on leash to make walks fun and exciting. Arlo would be such a wonderful addition to any home! Arlo had a dental cleaning and bloodwork at his recent vet visit. Interested in becoming a forever home for Arlo? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Arlo. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Arlo the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
