You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Maximus is a handsome pup who is in need of a new home. Maximus is now in a NJ foster home. Maximus is described as "a short and stout little meatball." He is always happy and always smiling. He loves to play with other dogs and kids too! Maximus likes to guard the perimeter of the yard and has a funny little woo woo bark. He is very friendly! Maximus is housebroken and crate trained. He is also good on the leash. Maximus  is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Story
Meet Nala — a sweet 4-year-old, 24lb, mixed breed dog from New York City! This 4-legged athlete is ready to slide right into your heart! Nala is a black female pug mix with a sparkling personality and a love for life (and long walks!). Fully housebroken and a pro at catching treats mid-air, Nala is as smart as she is sweet. She already knows her commands, struts beautifully on leash, and has the kind of charisma that turns heads at the dog park. When she barks, she lifts both front paws like she’s mid-cheer—barking truly is a full-body experience for her! Nala is great with people, gets along well with other dogs, and would thrive in a home with respectful older children who understand dog boundaries. She’s got just the right mix of independence and affection—content to do her own thing, but always happy to soak up attention and scritches from her humans. If Nala were human, her foster mom swears she’d be the star player on the local softball team—confident, playful, and full of heart. She’s the total package: housetrained, dog-friendly, leash-loving, and endlessly lovable. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  Nala is scheduled to be spayed on June 26th at the ASPCA Queens CVC - LIC. Should she be adopted before this date her adopters will be responsible for briniging her to and from this appointment. To adopt Nala, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2375825##

Story
Ted - 6 years, 18lbs, Pug/Chi Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60  minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Stunning Bruno is looking for a loving home! What makes him so special—besides his cute looks—is that he is very loving and playful. He loves going for walks and exploring the world around him. You can take him everywhere—pet stores, parks, and department stores. He is a great companion! He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play with them. He is a very happy boy who loves giving and receiving love and affection. Bruno is an active dog who loves running around chasing a ball or playing tug-of-war. His best home would have a fenced-in yard with another dog to play with. He can also be in the city as he is a confident dog and loves going for walks. Older, respectful kids would be good, but he can be a little rough with younger kids. He is 2 years old, house trained, up-to-date on all vaccinations, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for heart worm, currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention and dewormed. Bruno has stunning good looks and a gentle and sweet nature, and he learns quickly with a kind word and some treats. He is ready to find his own person! Interested in this sweet love bug? Harbor is Heartworm Positive so short walks for now, but don’t you worry he will be treated here at Vogel Veterinary Hospital for all of his treatments.
