Meet Freddie Mercury!This fun goofy 8 month old pug came to us because he was having frequent seizures. He seems to be blind in one eye due to a congenital issue, and has limited vision in his other eye so he's a bit clumsy sometimes but navigates well once he gets familiarized with his surroundings. An MRI showed his seizures are likely related to an autoimmune inflammatory brain issue, GME and he's currently on steroids and seizure medications. Happily he's had no further seizures since being on the proper medications, but he will need to be on medications longterm and could have flares down the road. We are looking for someone committed to this special little boy for life, regardless of what the future holds for him. He's a high energy playful active guy who loves toys, long walks and is quite the athlete... for a pug anyway. He will need a local home to continue to be seen by our vets over the next several months for follow ups as we manage his condition. Please submit an application to meet him. Meet our newest oldest dog Chester! This elderly guy was wandering around in the cold with no one looking for him and somehow didn’t freeze to death. It’s possible he’s a dinosaur 🦕 defrosted from the Ice Age as he seems pretty ancient, a relic from prehistoric times. He had 2 loose teeth that were so encrusted with tartar they looked fossilized and lumbers around with his stiff arthritic arched back but still gets around pretty well once he gets going. He doesn’t mind other chill dogs, loves to eat, loves naps in soft warm beds and is getting more lively and happy now that he’s on pain meds. We think he’s a Jug (Jack Russell/pug) or a Chug (Chihuahua/pug). Definitely something -ug and has a funny expression and underbite. Not sure how well he hears or sees but he manages ok and definitely still has a sense of smell for his meals.
