Midge is the most snaggle-toothed pup we've ever seen! She was rescued from a shelter in Texas a year ago and is still waiting to find her forever home - Midge is about 9 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Midge is a laid-back girl who just wants to follow you around everywhere – she loves the company of her family! She is well behaved in the car and she really loves her daily walks. She is currently living with 2 other dogs and has no problem keeping up with them even though they are half her age! Midge listens well and, being food driven, is easily trained. Midge is housetrained, however, she may need a puppy pad if left alone for 8 hours. When she is left home alone, she has the freedom to roam the place – she does not like being crated and doesn’t need to be. Midge sleeps on her own through the night without incident but would prefer to sleep in the same room as her people. Midge has fistulas (holes) in the roof of her mouth and it is possible for her occasionally to get food stuck in her nose. But Midge usually just sneezes the food out so you don’t have to do anything about it. Only once did a vet find food in her nose when she was being examined on a routine visit. Midge came into rescue with horrible teeth - she had a number of bad teeth removed but she is still the snaggle-toothed girl we love! Midge currently requires a tiny sprinkle of medicinal powder on her food to ensure her pancreas functions properly. Although Midge gets along with dogs, she might bark when she encounters new-to-her dogs on a walk. She sounds like a goat when she barks – it is actually quite cute! Story

Chicklet is a 2-4-year-old, 22-pound female pug mix from Texas! She is a loving, happy and curious pup. She has adjusted very well during her time in Brooklyn. Chicklet enjoys snuggling, going on long walks, and taking naps. Chicklet is working on her obedience training and learning “Sit”. During her time with her foster family, she sems to be house trained and used to the company of other humans and dogs. Chicklet is great on a leash and is very easy to walk around the city. She’s fine with cars, people and dogs and will try to smell everything she can lay her cute little nose on. Her forever family will need to continue working with Chicklet to reinforce and advance the progress she’s been making in her training. Chicklet has done well in her crate during the night and has been hanging around the apartment during the day. She does experience a little bit of separation anxiety at night but ends up falling asleep pretty quickly. She has only been left alone for very short periods of time during the day but did great each time. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite avocado toast toy. Chicklet is looking for a loving family. She appreciates both downtime and active moments. She would be happy either with another dog or just with humans. She hasn’t been exposed to cats yet, but she seems like she does fine around anything- her only scare so far has been a roomba. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Chicklet tested positive for ehrlichia and was treated with 21 days of doxycycline. A GENEROUS DONOR HAS COVERED THIS DOG'S VET COSTS, GIVING YOU A REDUCED ADOPTION FEE! Virginia was dumped out pregnant and despite going up to several homes and people, no one tried to help. She eventually wandered up to an empty house to have her three babies and thankfully someone finally took pity and reach out to get her help. Now Virginia and two of her puppies - Violet & Vince - are still waiting for families of their own and they are all on the URGENT list as their shelter is over full and they are running out of time. This girl is going to make someone a fabulous companion! She walks very well on a leash and is learning not to pull. She is potty-trained and is active but not hyper, does not jump, nor does she guard her food or toys. Virginia LOVES to go for car rides, especially if there's a burger and a pup-cup involved. And when she is on outings, she is the perfect lady when walking around the store - she was polite, greeted everyone, picked out a chew toy and treats. She takes a treat ever-so-gently and is just an overall "Good Girl!" Her absolute favorite thing is playing with her tennis ball or squeaky ball!! No stuffy toys for this girl. She loves to be with her person but if you are busy, she is content to play by herself too. Virginia does well with kids and loves every human she meets but she does not love other dogs, and we recommend she be an only-pet home. Virginia is looking for a family to include her on their adventures and show her all the love this mama dog deserves!! This girl is an absolute LOVE and deserves the best home ever!
