Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: MoodBREED: PugDOB: May 1, 2020 (6 years)GENDER: femaleHome Recommendation: Mood would do best in a loving home looking for a calm, easygoing companion. She has a very chill personality and enjoys being around her people without demanding constant activity. Mood gets along well with kids and other animals, making her a wonderful fit for a family home or a quieter household with other pets. She would thrive in an environment where she can relax, feel safe, and enjoy companionship, affection, and a steady routine.Personality: Mood is an extremely chill and peaceful dog who enjoys the simple things in life. One of her favorite activities is relaxing outside and quietly watching the birds fly by. She loves affection, especially having her ears rubbed, and will happily soak up all the attention you give her. Mood is very quiet and calm natured — in fact, she has not barked once in her foster home so far. Her gentle and relaxed personality makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a mellow, easygoing dog.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: Mood is still learning the basics and will need continued patience and consistency with her training. She is currently working on house training and leash walking, so her future family should be prepared to help guide her as she builds confidence and learns new routines. With her calm personality and gentle nature, she has great potential to continue making progress in a supportive and loving home.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Mood were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
