Story
Meet Sadie Sadie is a sweet girl with a gentle heart who’s looking for a calm, understanding home to call her own. She loves other dogs and does well with both young and older pups. While she’s pretty social with her canine friends, she seems uninterested in cats.   This girl lives for a good game of fetch and will happily show off her frisbee-catching skills!  Once she feels comfortable, her playful, fun-loving personality really shines. Sadie can be a little nervous with frequent changes, and suffered a home where there was domestic violence, so she needs a home where she can feel safe,  in a clam, predictable routine.   A calm, steady environment will help her feel safe and confident. She would do well with kids or older children who are dog-savvy and understand how to respectfully interact with her. Sadie is about a year old and 40 lbs and currently up to date on all her vetting, is walking nicely on a leash, and learning to trust more and more as her foster family introduces her to new situations.   She’s not looking for perfect — just patient. And in return, she’ll give you her whole heart. buttsmutts.com ##2596548##

Story
Hey y'all! Sassy (britches) here! I am a beautiful liver-and-white colored female rat terrier mix -- mature and calm at 6 years of age and I weigh 15.5 lbs. I get along with all dogs and am super friendly! I might be a bit shy to begin with, but if you are kind to me I am your new best friend. I guess humans would call me a "velcro dog". I don't have any separation anxiety but I live with a foster pack of 3 so I am not often completely alone. My foster mom has no issues leaving me loose in the home all day while she is away at work. No potty accidents and no destructive behavior. I mean seriously, I am a Princess! Have you seen my photos? I come when called and do not run away (such a great trait in a rat terrier breed). I know a couple of tricks: I spin in a circle for a treat and look totally adorable while doing it. I have a sweet overbite in my lower toothies which is super cute, and a curled tail. In my former life, I was the only dog with a single owner. But I also enjoy living with the pack, as long as I get to lay very close to my hooman. I am crate-trained but would MUCH prefer to sleep in the bed with you. I walk nicely on a leash and am just the perfect little girl. I rarely bark and love life. I am a bit picky about my food but hey, I have to have at least one little quirk, right? Are you looking for a perfect love? I am your girl.  Love, Sassy If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Meet Zuni — your tiny, speckled shadow with a brave little heart. Zuni is a one-year-old rat terrier whose markings make her look like she’s always thoughtfully observing the world. At about 15 pounds, she’s the perfect size: small enough to curl up beside you yet sturdy enough to keep up with any adventure! Zuni’s story started in a rural shelter after being surrendered by a breeder. While her beginning didn’t offer much stability, Zuni has been quietly and courageously learning what it means to feel safe and she’s come so far. She’s playful, quirky, and has an huge soft spot for treats. She absolutely thrives around other dogs and would love a home with a confident canine buddy to show her the ropes. Watching her relax and play with another dog is like watching someone finally exhale. At home, Zuni is gentle and sweet. She sleeps peacefully in her crate at night and enjoys being near her people during the day. She’s still a bit unsure about sudden movements or being scooped up  but give her time and she’ll come around.  Once she is comfortable with you,  she melts into ear scratches and quiet affection like she’s been saving it just for you. Zuni is still working on housetraining and has been doing great! Right now she has a potty pad by the door that she uses if she can’t wait. Zuni is looking for a patient, loving home that understands that trust is something to build step-by-step. She’s not a “jump in your lap on day one” kind of dog—but she is the kind of dog whose love and loyalty feel incredibly special once you earn them.   If you believe the best relationships are the ones that grow over time, Zuni is waiting to meet you. Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. March 10, 2026, 2:53 pm
