Story

Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Oreo's owner has had her for 5 wonderful years but then the family had a baby and the baby became a toddler and it has all been too much for Oreo, too much unbounded kid, not enough space. She loves to cuddle, loves attention and being petted. She will let you know if you start to slack off petting her. She would love an active family with older respectful kids. She loves to play fetch and to run. Her trainer suggested agility training as she is incredibly fast and agile. We think she would thrive on the challenge of a course and competition. But even if she just went running and hiking with you, she would be an excellent companion who would keep you both motivated. She can be OK with other dogs, as long as they are at least medium to large size, not small ones. Age: 6 years Weight: 37 lbs Temperament: Gets along with dogs her size and larger, all adults and older respectfule kid, no toddlers Training: Housetrained Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: http://musicadisanto@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story

Say hello to Penny! This happy little girl is a 5-year-old Rat Terrier mix. At 17 pounds, Penny is carrying a little extra weight and would love a family committed to helping her get back to her ideal weight of 10–12 pounds. She would make the perfect walking buddy as you tackle that journey together! One of Penny’s cutest quirks is standing up on her hind legs whenever she’s excited to see you. It’s her special way of letting you know she is happy to see you. It’s also guaranteed to make you smile every time. 🥰 Penny is funny, incredibly sweet, and loves to play. Once she bonds with her person, she’s happiest right by your side. While she sometimes plays with the other dogs in her foster home, she doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy. She’d be perfectly content soaking up all of your love and being the center of attention. She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to a new home. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a playful personality and lots of love to give, Penny may just be the perfect match! 💟🐾 ************** Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. March 10, 2026, 2:53 pm

Zuni (GA)

Story

Meet Zuni — a tiny, tender-hearted girl learning to be brave . Zuni is a 1-year-old rat terrier with the most soulful eyes and a beautifully unique coat, like she was carefully painted with love. At just 15 lbs. with her adorable docked tail, she's the perfect petite companion with a quiet presence that grows on you more each day. Zuni came from a rural shelter alongside her two sisters after being surrendered by a breeder. When she arrived, it was clear she had been severely under-socialized, and the world felt like a very big, overwhelming place. But since then, Zuni has been slowly discovering that people can be kind—and she's made incredible progress. She is still a very shy girl, and new situations can make her nervous. Zuni needs a home with a fenced-in back yard because she is not ready for leash walks, as being in environments where she doesn't feel in control can be frightening for her and she isn't ready to be leashed. She will need a patient, understanding home that's committed to continuing her socialization at her pace, with kindness and consistency leading the way. Despite her shyness, Zuni truly wants connection. She loves being around her people in a calm, familiar environment and finds comfort in routine. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, adores treats, and absolutely lights up around other dogs—she would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help guide her and show her the world isn't so scary. Zuni may not run up to you right away, but give her time, and you'll see her begin to trust. She'll come closer, lean into gentle ear scratches, and quietly choose you. Those moments feel like tiny victories—and they add up to something really special. Zuni is looking for a home that understands that love doesn't always arrive loudly. Sometimes, it tiptoes in, soft and uncertain...until one day, it's right there beside you. If you have the patience to help a shy girl blossom, Zuni is ready to keep growing—with you . For more photos, visit her album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/zuni If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Spayed or Neutered,

Story

This sweet girl, approximately 5 years old, urgently needs a loving new home. Her 87-year-old owner can no longer manage her care, and with his health declining, we need to find her a safe, stable home before his situation changes. She is spayed, friendly with other dogs, and loves to play! She currently lives with a cat and may do well with feline friends, too. She is a smart girl who can be a bit of a barker, but with consistent training, regular exercise, and plenty of playtime, she has the potential to become a wonderful companion. She may need to shed a few pounds, but she's ready for more walks, more adventures, and lots of love! Can you help give this girl the second chance she deserves? We are hoping to find her a wonderful new home as soon as possible. If you or someone you know might be able to adopt her—or help connect her with a rescue—please reach out. She deserves a safe, loving place to call home.
