Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. About two years old next month, she came to us in Feb 2024 as a two month old puppy with her sister. Then known as Victoria, she was adopted the next month. Sadly, her parents had to return her to us this August. She weighs about 20 pounds, all vetted, microchipped and is looking for that family who is as wonderful as she is. Hello, Ive had biscuit for about two years now and Im going to be honest it has been a challenge. Biscuit is an active dog and with me living in an apartment he isnt getting much stimulation as he needs, which is causing conflict hes never sitting down. Before you think he is an untrained dog think again, he is well trained and knows all his commands and listens but hes an active teenage dog who needs space to run and play. Another word hes bored. His personality is top tier its like have a cat and dog all in one with big dog energy. He is not the best off leash he will need to be leashed at all times because of his prey drive but he has been around cats and smaller dogs. Its the big dogs he thinks he can beat lol. Why am I putting biscuit up for adoption? I have another year on my leash and I do not have an active lifestyle. Hello, my name is Linky West! I'm an 8 year old, 15 pound, rat terrier mix. I'm a spunky and sweet girl who is a bit shy and unsure at first, but I warm up eventually, especially if you have treats. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and ready to find my new home! I had a loving person, but sadly they passed away. I was left alone in an abandoned house with only my fur friends and the occasional visitor to feed me. It's not surprising that I am loving life in my foster home where I have nonstop human companionship and furry friendships. I even started playing with toys and they are so fun! I live with four other dogs right now. My favorite is the big, shy one (I love him!) and my least favorite is the loud, obnoxious one (I hate him!). I also lived with cats in my last home. My favorite companion is my human though. Once I get to know you, I will ADORE you. Where you go, I go. I will sit on the couch with you and sleep in bed with you. I am not a fan of collars, harnesses, or leashes - they scare me! I hope to get more comfortable with them after more time and practice, but for now, I need a securely fenced yard in my new home. I can be a bit of an escape artist, so anyone who adopts me will have to be careful to keep me safe and secure. I don't mind going in a crate for meal time, but I don't like going in one for extended periods of time. That's okay because I don't make mischief when left out to roam freely while home alone. One other awesome thing about me is that I'm house trained! I'm really enjoying life in my foster home, but I can't wait to find my forever home! Would you like to be my new best friend?
