Story
Gumbo is an adorable tri-color Rat Terrier/Cattle Dog mix looking for his forever family! He is 5mo old, and currently weighs 22lbs. When full grown, he will likely mature around 45lbs. This sweet boy is dog friendly, and although he hasn&#39t been kid tested, he would likely love kids too! Gumbo is very smart and picks up quickly on everything he is taught - he is crate trained, house trained, and knows sit and shake! Gumbo has lots of puppy energy, and loves to play and run with the other dogs in his foster home. Once he tuckers himself out, he enjoys cuddling up by your side! Gumbo would love an active forever family, and would be an excellent addition to a house with other fun loving dogs. He is well behaved in the car, and would enjoy going on fun outings. A fenced yard would be ideal for this playful boy! Gumbo will be fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped before an adoption is finalized. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.February 23, 2024, 4:01 pm

Story
This very old, and sweet gal just wants to be near you, preferably sitting with you.   Snowy showed up on someone's porch in late April and no one knew who she belonged to.  Uncertain if she wandered off and her owner never tried to find her, or if she was dumped because of her age, Snowy is gaining weight and more energy and has a little pep in her step now.  She doesn't hear well, but sees well enough to go up and down steps, and find you so she can be near you.   She needs to be an inside only dog, and never left unattended while outside.  We have performed a dental on her becuase her teeth were in bad shape, and the bloodwork shows she is negative for heartworms.   Uncertain if she is spayed, we will not put her through that surgery at her age, though it is doubtful she is still going into heat.   Snowy simply needs a place to live out her days.  She has short bursts of spunk but mainly likes to rest near her humans, or other fur babies who are welcoming to her.   We are not sure of her age, but she is likely between 8-14 yrs old.. it is very hard to estimate age.  Currently weighs around 12.5lbs but should be closer to 15lbs, we think.  She goes potty outside but you must be diligent about taking her because she cannot hold it as long as younger dogs.   If you can provide her with patience, kindness and a place to call home, please apply for snowy at buttsmutts.com.  ##1657688##

Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. January 8, 2024, 12:14 am

Story
I'm Eddie and I'm ready to be your one and only. I don't really like sharing the limelight (or my food), and I've got plenty of personality to satisfy any dog lover. Quality over quantity, I say.    I'm about 12 years old with the playfulness of a puppy. Stuffed toys (and their destuffing) are my passions. I love to parade around the house with a toy in my mouth. Wanna play chase and try to get my toy? Game on! Let's play! I want to be your #1 fan and you to be mine. I'll follow you around the house, and you'll let me sleep in your bed, OK? I'm only 18 lbs.; I won't take up much room. (Just don't poke me with your elbow while I'm asleep. I can be grouchy.)   When I'm out and about, I like meeting people, even kids (after a brief bark to introduce myself), but I'm not a fan of great gatherings or new events inside my--I mean, OUR--home. Dogs are OK as long as they are not big and scary and don't expect me to share my food or your attention with them. I'm good friends with the cat across the street, but other cats (and lizards) were made to be chased. I potty outside using a dog door except when it's raining. I would appreciate alternatives in the event of inclement weather.    For a gentleman of a 'certain age,' I'm in pretty good health, but I do have two issues that respond well to meds and human TLC. I take Apoquel ($90/month) for a skin allergy that has so far defied identification and a daily pain pill ($10/month) for a disc problem in my back. Pricey? Not compared to the gratitude you'll get from me. That's priceless! Check out more photos of me at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/eddie .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. February 20, 2024, 12:48 pm
