As the runt, she may have started life small, but she’s growing into a beautiful girl with an even bigger heart. Now around 40 pounds, Kyra has blossomed into a sweet, snuggly, and curious companion—just like her mom, Sunny. She loves affection, enjoys exploring the world around her, and is always ready to cuddle up after a day of adventures. Kyra’s mom, Sunny, weighs around 45 pounds, though her dad is unknown, so her adult size is an estimate. Kyra is good with other dogs and cats too! Could Kyra be the loyal best friend you’ve been searching for? ❤️ Apply to adopt Kyra today: www.wtfarmtn.org

Buttercup

Rhodesian Ridgeback American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, Adult

Cheshire, CT

Size

(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Buttercup is a sweetheart. She likes to run, watch sunsets, take car rides and go for walks. She is a protector by nature with a sweet soul. Her mother is a purebred Pitbull. Her father is believed to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She is dedicated and observant. Buttercup likes to play, but I forewarn you her gentle is a little rough. When you tell her, it’s too much she will stop immediately and give you kisses. She can be skittish in new situations, though she loves meeting new people. She has mixed feelings about cats. She currently has a little brother, BoBo, that I am also rehoming. Buttercup is intelligent. She understands basic commands in English and Spanish. She has never been exposed to children. I do not know how she will react. Buttercup is just out of date on her shots and I am currently working on getting that updated.

Story

Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story

🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙
