LOOKING FOR A GOOD LEADER:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 61 lbs. Hi, my name is Doc! I originally came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and was adopted for a while, but it turned out not to be the right fit so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for the right home!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I liked playing with the other dogs I met in the prison/foster training program and I like the dog in my foster home - when I’m finished playing, I’ll just lie down.  In my former home, I went to doggie daycare at times, so if you have a dog that would like a friend, let’s meet! / I got along with the cat in my former home though I did chase at times, but they reported it was not aggressively. All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat. / I met some teenagers at the bus stop with my foster and liked them, so if you have kids 15+ and older, let’s meet and kids should not walk me.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a nice dog who is looking for a nice, dog-savvy family to give me good leadership and clear rules.  I’m a smart pup with working-breed traits, so I’ll thrive with plenty of mental stimulation and things to keep my brain busy.  I have a bit of neck sensitivity, so it’s best not to grab my collar suddenly.  There were 2 minor bites in the past, but I always give clear warning signs first.  My trainer will be glad to explain this and share tips to help set us up for success.  I’m affectionate with most people, a little selective with others, and sometimes get mouthy when I play.  With the right guidance, I’ll be a loyal, loving companion who just needs someone to believe in me. So, if you’re looking for a dog to be active with and you enjoy training as well as being a good leader to your dog, we could be a great fit!  / My energy level was 3-5 in the prison/foster training program, so a nice 30-minute walk when out to potty seems to be what I need.  But remember I do also want mental stimulation such as puzzle toys and games. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash walking manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I really enjoy my training, and I’ve recently started training to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, which is a 10-skill program that teaches dogs good manners at home and in the community.  In addition to my MMU training, I’ve learned the ‘wait’, ‘off’, and ‘give’ commands and I’m currently working on my recall using a whistle.  I’m excited to keep learning and showing off my best manners as I work toward this goal!  I have also been to 2 additional Mostly Mutts after adoption training classes. / My crate manners were good in the prison/foster training program and were also good in my former home. / My potty manners were good in the prison/foster training program and were also reported as good in my former home and my foster home.  In my foster home, I notify my foster that I need to go potty by sitting and pawing at the door. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like spending time with people, playing puzzle games and mental stimulation with toys and training together.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we’ll like doing together, too! / As mentioned above, I’ve struggled with collar reactivity and there have been a select few people I didn’t care for. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.    • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  Not long after my initial rescue as a puppy, it was discovered that I was born with Legg-Perthes Disease and needed double FHO surgery. Thanks to the great care I received, I had my surgery, completed my recovery and physical therapy, and am doing really well!  I am taking an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin to keep my joints feeling their best. I am looking for a wonderful and loving home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 13, 2026, 9:01 am

Story
This beautiful Rottie girl is Junie! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 1/7, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim her. Junie is now in need of a hero to adopt/rescue her. You see, Junie tested positive for heartworms, and when the shelter is at capacity the dogs with medical issues are at risk. With proper treatment and care, Junie can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while she receives treatment. The volunteers describe Junie as very sweet though initially a little shy. Once she warms up and trusts you she will lean into you for affection and belly rubs! She knows several commands including sit, down, and stay. Junie is approximately 2 years old, and weighs 71 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and has been spayed. She will be microchipped upon adoption. Please come meet her in kennel 878; her ID # is 16205. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Shannon is a young athletic Rottweiler/ Pointer mix looking for her forever family! She has a beautiful coat, and an athletic build! Shannon is estimated to be around 1yr old, and weighs 55lbs. She is dog friendly, and very playful. Shannon is working on her house training, crate training, and is learning her basic commands. She has a sweet and friendly personality. This deserving girl was picked up as a stray, then ended up at Walton Animal Control. She soon came down with a respiratory illness. BarkVille Dog Rescue pulled her, and she is now fully healthy and vetted, and ready for her forever family. Shannon has a medium energy level, and would benefit from a family who will provide her basic training and regular exercise. She can jump very high, and will need a tall privacy fenced yard, and owners who will keep an eye on this mischievous girl. Shannon would likely excel with agility training! Since she still needs to fine tune her manners, no small kids for this girl. If you&#39re interested in adopting Shannon, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.October 5, 2025, 8:53 pm

Story
Deuce is 3 1/2 will turn 4 in April, he's a pretty simple dog just dont have the time to really tend to him as much as needs. He's a pure bead German Rottweiler. When he was purchased his father and mother were still alive and doing well. He was purchased from a young lady who breeds nothing but Rottweilers. He's very friendly never raised him to be aggressive i have a 3 year girl and have never had any issues with him dealing with her. He's potty trained and trained for most signals such as sit, lay down roll over...... would just like to have see him go to a family that has the room for him along with the time to tend to him.

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, where I am able to continue all of my training.  My foster mom and dad say that I am a VERY good student! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in my foster home and liked them a lot!  I also played along the fence line with another doggie in a temporary foster home when my regular foster was away – what fun!!  I think I would ‘thrive’ in a home with another dog!  I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks, and enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun!  I am great in the shower, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, and easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners and have not had a single accident.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them and I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball!  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people.  I secretly believe that I am a lap dog, so often times I will sit in your lap and wrap my front legs around your neck for a big hug.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 26, 2025, 6:30 am
