Hey friend! My name is Teddy Bear and just like a Teddy Bear I am super cuddly and sweet!One thing you should know about me right off the bat is that I am, what my friends like to call, a Tri-Pod. That is their silly way of saying I only have 3 legs. It does not slow me down one bit, and I am still down to go on adventures with you! I am one smart cookie and know lots of things! I know basic cues such as sit, down, paw (at least I'll TRY to give you my paw HAHA) stay and leave it. I love treats and positive reinforcement. You can use those things to teach me new things and become my best friend of course! I am high energy though and I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.I have such a silly and outgoing personality. I love to cuddle and lay with my friends. I think I am a lap dog even though I am way too big for that now. I love playing with toys and can show you my favorite ones when we meet! (Hint: The ones that squeak sure get my attention!)I lived with another dog in my last home and have had lots of fun playing with larger dogs here at OHS. I am a big guy and have a rough and rowdy play style so I need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. I also need a home without small dogs, cats or other small animals.Sometimes I don't know my own size and can bump into things, so I need to go to a home without small children. He seems like he would like another dog close to his size to play with. He loves to chew on tennis balls. He loves chewing water from the hose. Loves company while he plays in the grass. He doesn’t like the leaf blower, tries to bite it. He is afraid of the fire pit. He love to cuddle and would love to sleep in your bed. Maverick needs more leash train but will follow and return if called by name to stay on trail.

Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost **4.5 years** living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for a few months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I may even be fine as the only dog. Kids, same thing, I prefer ones that are old enough to respect my space and low energy. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best scratches and I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I have become fat and happy but the weight has worn down on these ol’ joints. I am on a diet, limited treats, and I am getting joint supplements every day. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!!
