What my friends at OHS say about me:Just like a bear, I am snuggly, cute, and love butt scratches.I'm missing a leg, not sure where I left it, but it does not slow me down one bit!I really enjoy the company of my human friends. I will thrive with an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you.I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.I really enjoy playing with toys! I'll show you my favorite when we meet!I had so much fun meeting another dog here in the shelter. I am a pretty rough and rowdy player and my friends at OHS think I would be great at making new large dog friends that can match my playstyle! The type of home I'm looking for:I need a home without cats, small dogs, or other small animals.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. It could be with you! TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Drax is a really cool name, right?? Makes me look AND sound like a tough guy! Look at my head!! I am a REAL ROTTIE!! No mistaking me for a POODLE or CHIHUAHUA. I am the real deal and being a Rottie has some advantages and some disadvantages... Advantages- Handsome boy, people may think I am scary because of my size and big head but I am NICE (ok that can be a disadvantage too). I look good walking next to anyone from big to little.... Disadvantages- ok I look scary but I am a big marshmallow...unless you threaten my family.... and then it is a big advantage! So as you gathered, I am a glass half full kind of boy. And my glass is ALMOST FULL, except one thing!! A FAMILY! I will love you and kiss you and hang out with you and run with you and protect you no matter what..... You just have to pick me and put in the adoption application soon! I will fill your life with wonderful drooly love while you fill my life with the family I have been dreaming of!! Must know the breed. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost **4.5 years** living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for a few months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I may even be fine as the only dog. Kids, same thing, I prefer ones that are old enough to respect my space and low energy. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best scratches and I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I have become fat and happy but the weight has worn down on these ol’ joints. I am on a diet, limited treats, and I am getting joint supplements every day. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Alfalfa has so many meanings. To horse people alfalfa is a rich and green leafy food :) To dog people, Alfalfa, means ME!!! I have not lead the most "leafy" life though. I was FINALLY saved from an extreme hoarding situation - I was waiting my whole life to leave that "life" behind!! And I am SO grateful to the ladies who have taken over a year to save 65 of the 87 dogs I lived with AND are still working to get more out! I am a shy when u first meet me, but don't let that de-suade you! I will warm up and you will be so so grateful that you gave me the time to open up to you and show you my steady and grateful side, I am more of a loner than a lot of hoarding dogs are, I actually would be fine with or without another dog or cat. I am slow to trust but once I trust you I am a quiet and loving companion :) Only on my terms. I have been through a lot and just need the most wonderful, patient, laid back and quiet family!! I know you are OUT THERE!! Look onto my chocolate dreamy eyes, and get that application in! I am waiting..... Story
So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! You will get an AMAZING and DEDICATED and EXTREMELY LOYAL DOG! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

Story
I'm gonna make you an wo-offer you can't refuse. That's Pacino's favorite phrase. The adoption deal is simple: a roof over his head, a cold dish of water, daily meals and treats, plus an abundance of love. What? It's a good deal! Pacino, now over a year old, has become a true Dogfather. He is well-behaved, happy-go lucky, is very handsome, and has a wonderful, playful nature; he fits seamlessly into any family. His lineage boasts a long line of Dog-Father's, tough dogs out in the world whose business is their own. But, they are loyal, loving and strong characters to have around you.. He's a potty-trained and crate-trained gentleman, but he still has a penchant for chewing. He adores treats and toys, but can go through them quickly. Proper and slow introductions to other dogs are essential. Pacino would thrive best with older kids. Join the legacy and give Pacino the family he deserves. After all, a dog like him is an offer you can't refuse. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
