Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost *4.5 years* living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for ~8 months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I would even be fine as the only dog. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best hugs and back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I put on a lot of weight but have now slimmed down some, too! I am eating less and getting joint supplements every day to continue working on my figure. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Jax smart, quick to learn, attentive to his owners feelings, loves being close to his "pack". He's never once hurt any children, he's self aware of his size. We've done plenty of training classes and done everything we understood on how to socialize him. He hates bath time & the water hose, but LOVES the lake, river or ocean. He will dig a hole in the sand on command, making the perfect puppy bed to snuggle in. He has great house manners. We can leave the house with meat on the counter in full trust. He's 3yrs, about 94-100lbs, loud bark and slobbery at times. Fav toys being ball, rope or a tough stuffy. We hope to find a family that understands his breed and has open space to run free.His special needs include daily allergy medication and poultry free diet. He has sensitive skin and stomach.He is comfortable with dogs/people within his own family. Anyone outside of that space, he is protective.
