Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Sierra spent most of her life living in complete filth with tank. She ended up in a shelter and when we saw her we knew we had to help them. Tank and Sierra both got  their freedom ride and now  live in the pooch palace :) Sierra was having some issues with her legs and being stiff and sore so we gave her a librella injection and meds and she is thriving! She LOVES playing in the field with the biggest smile on her face. Her and Tank live together and I think its safe to say there both loving there new lives :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Current Location: Westminster, MD Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Story
We’re looking to re-home our Rotterman to a loving, responsible home. He was born in September 2024 and is in great health. He’s up to date on all his shots, neutered, microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. He has a very protective temperament, walks well on a leash, and is great with our kids. He also completed two weeks of professional training at Stateline Canine, so he has a solid foundation and knows his basic commands. Recently, he and our other large dog have not been getting along, and for everyone’s safety and well-being, we feel it’s best to find him a home where he can be the only dog or properly introduced in the right environment. He’s a loyal dog who would do best with a family or individual experienced with larger breeds who can give him the time, structure, and attention he deserves. This is not an easy decision for us, and we want to make sure he goes to the right home. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Story
Lazlo has a had a rough go of it lately. He was adopted as a puppy by his previous 80 yo owner, who unfortunately passed away Oct 2025. I adopted Lazzy Bear from the owner’s daughter who described him as a gentle giant, who’s house trained, very submissive, average energy, good with dogs, cats, and kids. All of these absolutely apply, except the last which has been a challenge the past two months with my little children. Laz is a BIG BOY who I think doesn’t understand the concept of kids playing because it seems to freak him out/upset him. I’ve changed house rules to separate kids from dog, which seemed to help but having any other child over is a disaster. He is a great dog, who acts as my guardian and pillow because he was sweet enough to choose me as his personal, but I think he gets jealous of the kids. Can’t have that. I think older/bigger kids would be perfectly fine since they could handle the big boy better, or a more experienced Rottie owner than myself.

Story
Meet Willow - Looking for Understanding and LoveWillow is a beautiful girl who’s searching for the right home - one that understands her boundaries and will love her for exactly who she is.Over time, we’ve learned that Willow would be happiest as the only dog in the home. She likes having her people and her belongings to herself, and she can become possessive of toys and other valued items. Because of this, she’ll do best with an experienced owner who can provide structure, consistency, and respect for her space.Willow is also uncomfortable with restraint and handling in certain situations, especially during veterinary care, so future vet visits will need to be planned with patience and understanding.Despite these challenges, Willow has so much potential in the right environment. She forms strong bonds with the people she trusts and wants nothing more than to feel safe and secure. What she needs is a calm, predictable home with someone willing to see beyond her quirks and give her the chance she deserves. Not every dog is easy. Some need extra understanding. Willow is one of those dogs - and she is worth it.

Story
I'm Tula and my story is oh, so sad.  I'm a Boxer girl who was lucky enough to come to Molly's Place to recoup and reconnect with good people. Ya see, I was abandoned at a veterinary office. Yep, HOW ON EARTH!!!??? Who knows why, maybe my person just didn't have what I needed. Even through this terrible experience, I'm still an affectionate gal with a loving personality with a little "timidness" thrown in fur good measures.   Since arriving, my personality is starting to shine through. I've been showing my "Fun playful side" as I run, jump and spin in the open yard! It's exciting to be Free, know I'll be fed, given a gently hand and a kiss before bed. With slow introductions to other dogs have gone well as I show I can quickly warm up to make friends. Bebe, another new arrival, and I are a "pair" enjoying each other's company as we settle into our temporary home. (could be cat tested if interested) No accidents for me yet showing I'm probably house trained (in my kennel so far).  "I Believe in Fate, Destiny and Hope for a future of a Better Life. Can you be my savior?" Stay tuned for more updates and photos as my personality continues to blossom and settle in. I'm Tula who will surely win your heart.    Kennel License #7198 To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org.
