You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
My name is Sparky and I am five years young! I am a Rottie/Min Pin mix. Yep! That's real! I am fixed and up to date on vaccines and weigh around 40 pounds. I found myself at the rescue when my family had to move and sadly, I couldn't go along. I am full of energy and I am looking for an active family that has previous dog experience as I need structure and exercise. I really like being around my people and can get very anxious when left alone. I would need need a family that is home often and can help me with my anxiety. I do get very excited when I know that the volunteers are going to take me for a walk, jumping up and down in anticipation. Strangers and small children make me a bit nervous, but once I get to know you, I will do anything to please! Children 12 and older would be best for me. I will sit and take treats nicely and I will give you my paw if you ask. Not to brag, but I am a very smart guy. I would do best in a home without cats. I could get along with another very mellow dog! Of course I would need to meet them along with the rest of the family first. Sparky is currently in a foster home where he is learning he doesn't need to be anxious when left alone. If you want to be Sparky's person, please visit our website, www.crcpa.org, and complete an application!

Story
Jaida (formerly Potter) joined the HOPE Program after she and her family worked REALLY hard to help her adjust to a new baby in the house. Unfortunately, she prefers the companionship of older kids (10 years and over) to that of an infant or toddler. Jaida has a HIGH PREY DRIVE and will give chase to small critters, so she shouldn’t live with cats, birds, guinea pigs, etc. The smaller and squeakier, the more interested Jaida gets! She and her family put in a lot of time and work, so she’s already a very well behaved girl. She loves going for walks and hikes, but prefers not to be bombarded by off leash dogs. After all, she’s a well mannered gal and expects her friends to be the same! Jaida isn’t a fan of the vet’s office or the groomers, so her family trained her to be comfortable in a muzzle, and she wears it like a badge of honor! She knows a lot of commands, so she’s definitely going to keep her HOPE handler on his toes as they work on some advanced obedience skills. She also walks nicely on the leash, is food motivated (which helps with training), and isn’t generally nervous or anxious. She was very well behaved when meeting the HOPE Trainer for the first time and sat politely for petting and treats. She even showed off with a few tricks! To follow along with Jaida's progress in the HOPE program, follow this link: https://www.hopedogs.org/dogs/potter/ If you are interested in adopting Jaida, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org/adopt.

Story
Tank is a handsome, 1 year old Rottweiler. He currently weighs 85 pounds and sometimes forgets how big he really is. He loves attention and loves to get belly rubs! He is still on the immature side and does jump up when he gets excited so he will need someone that can work with him on this. Due to his size and jumping up Tank may be too much for small children so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Tank has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/tick borne disease tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.

Story
🎀 ROSIE🐾 Rosie was around 2 months old when her foster fam was told about her. She was tied up in the backyard with a large leash about three feet attached to her collar; they were informed by a concerned neighbor that she cried all night and day. She was a BABY put out like she was garbage🥺 Rosie is now thriving, a pure loving puppy, growing by the second, LOVES to be loved on, tummy rubs AND playfully plays with the other dogs, which are seniors. 🐾 She is a little bit mischievous but very smart, thus quick to learn. She loves playing with everybody’s toys, her emotions and thoughts are clearly expressed on her face, and she is just so beautiful and goofy!😆 Rosie is as ball of energy, a large breed puppy, but respectful with her size. She has been working hard to learn to walk on a leash, basic obedience commands, crate training, housebreaking, and general manners! She is great with kids, cats and dogs, because they are for the playing. 🐶 Rosie is LOVED and deserves the most perfect forever family.
