Story
Khalifa is a 17 month old (as of 7/23) Rottweiler/bulldog mix, bought from a breeder. She has no behavioral issues, I just think she would do better in a home looking for a loving family pet. She lives in a house with two other male dogs who she gets along with well, and has shown no aggression to strange dogs, people or children. In fact, getting pets and treats from strangers and children is her favorite. We have done professional training with her, teaching her all the basic commands needed and should be a well-behaved dog for anyone who is willing to keep up with that training. Because of her breed, homes with opposite sex dogs are preferred to avoid possible dog-fighting, but for the right situation exceptions can be made. She is a strong, active dog so someone willing and able to meet her exercise needs is required, although she should calm down with age.

Story
My name is Sparky and I am five years young! I am a Rottie/Min Pin mix. Yep! That's real! I am fixed and up to date on vaccines and weigh around 40 pounds. I found myself at the rescue when my family had to move and sadly, I couldn't go along. I am full of energy and I am looking for an active family that has previous dog experience as I need structure and exercise. I really like being around my people and can get very anxious when left alone. I would need need a family that is home often and can help me with my anxiety. I do get very excited when I know that the volunteers are going to take me for a walk, jumping up and down in anticipation. Strangers and small children make me a bit nervous, but once I get to know you, I will do anything to please! Children 12 and older would be best for me. I will sit and take treats nicely and I will give you my paw if you ask. Not to brag, but I am a very smart guy. I would do best in a home without cats. I could get along with another very mellow dog! Of course I would need to meet them along with the rest of the family first. Sparky is currently in a foster home where he is learning he doesn't need to be anxious when left alone. If you want to be Sparky's person, please visit our website, www.crcpa.org, and complete an application!

Story
Jaida (formerly Potter) joined the HOPE Program after she and her family worked REALLY hard to help her adjust to a new baby in the house. Unfortunately, she prefers the companionship of older kids (10 years and over) to that of an infant or toddler. Jaida has a HIGH PREY DRIVE and will give chase to small critters, so she shouldn’t live with cats, birds, guinea pigs, etc. The smaller and squeakier, the more interested Jaida gets! She and her family put in a lot of time and work, so she’s already a very well behaved girl. She loves going for walks and hikes, but prefers not to be bombarded by off leash dogs. After all, she’s a well mannered gal and expects her friends to be the same! Jaida isn’t a fan of the vet’s office or the groomers, so her family trained her to be comfortable in a muzzle, and she wears it like a badge of honor! She knows a lot of commands, so she’s definitely going to keep her HOPE handler on his toes as they work on some advanced obedience skills. She also walks nicely on the leash, is food motivated (which helps with training), and isn’t generally nervous or anxious. She was very well behaved when meeting the HOPE Trainer for the first time and sat politely for petting and treats. She even showed off with a few tricks! To follow along with Jaida's progress in the HOPE program, follow this link: https://www.hopedogs.org/dogs/potter/ If you are interested in adopting Jaida, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org/adopt.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rylie and her siblings arrived to our rescue on April 1st from Alabama.  Rylie's sister, Roxie has been adopted and doing great in her new home.  Rylie and her brother, Ranger came to us as feral pups.  We have been working with Rylie to get her comfortable being with people.  Ranger is now with Speranza Animal Rescue and he is available through them.We have made progress with Rylie and she is much better than when she came.  When she arrived, she was completely petrified of people.  She will now come up to us and even let us love up on her, however, there has to be another dog or two around as that is what gives her confidence.  She absolutely LOVES other dogs and she plays hard...lol!  Her new home has to have at least one other playful dog and one that is sociable with people so she can continue to learn.  A secure fence is a must as she is considered a flight risk.  Rylie is never going to be a social butterfly.  However, she can be a very happy pup in the right home.  She will need a family that can continue to work with her and have a lot of patience.  Whoever adopts her needs to know that she isn't going to come greet you when you meet her.  She will be scared in her new home until she earns your trust.  Once that happens, she is your typical playful and happy pup!  She digs in the yard, loves toys, but mostly enjoys romping with other dogs. Her house training is coming along, but not perfected yet.  She is crated at night time and for short periods during the day if needed.  We are currently working with her on leash and basic obedience (sitting) since she now will take treats from us.  Rylie is around 7 1/2 months old.  We believe she is a mix of rottweiler and lab.  She has the rottie markings, but lab fur.  Her weight is currently close to 40 lbs and she may grow another 10 lbs.  Her spay is setup for mid July.  She can be adopted prior to that, but her family would need to get her to the vets for the surgery (and we can help with that if needed).  Rylie is current on distemper, bordatella and rabies; she will be spayed and microchipped; she is also current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  Her adoption fee is $450.If you are interested in adopting Rylie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.net.Thank you for your interest in a rescue pup! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 19, 2023, 12:12 am

Wanna play? Jump in the pool for a game of Marco...POLO! Just watch out, you're gonna fall in love. Polo is your typical, super sweet, fun-loving, 4-year-old Rottie. He'll come right over, plant a sloppy kiss on you, and put his head in your lap for ear scratches. Pretty soon he'll roll over, show you his belly and that's it...you'll be hooked! Polo seems to be fine with other dogs and can't wait to engage them to play. Marco? No, POLO!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
