Capella is a sweet, playful, and outgoing girl who is ready to find a patient family to call her own! Capella came to us as a stray, and while she was roaming loose, there was an unfortunate incident where she was uncomfortable when someone attempted to secure her. Capella snapped and broke skin on the individual’s thumb. This incident is classified as a Level 2 bite on the Dr. Ian Dunbar Dog Bite Scale. We believe Capella’s response was fear-based and occurred during a stressful and unusual circumstance. Since coming to the shelter, she has shown us just how loving she can be! She is also a playful girl who enjoys getting out, exploring, and having fun. Because of her history, Capella is required to go to a home with children ages 13 and older. Say hello to Genesis! Believe it or not, her father is a chihuahua and her mother is a rottweiler! She was surrendered to the shelter at no fault of her own, and now she is ready to find her furever home. She can be a bit nervous with strangers, but she has a sweet disposition and warms up quickly. She is open to possibly living with another dog with proper introduction. She cannot live with cats or other small animals due to a high prey drive. She is protective of her food and high value treats/toys, so any kids in the home must be 10 and older. She is already housebroken and crate trained, but she does try to escape her crate. Genesis has been through a lot of change and just wants stability and companionship. Due to my son's allergies, I unfortunately have to find a loving new home for my dog. This is not an easy decision because she is a very loving, loyal, and affectionate girl. 2yrs old. She is fully potty trained and house trained. She is wonderful with children, other dogs, and strangers. She is friendly and loving with everyone. I am unsure how she does with cats. Located in Lovettsville, VA Hi, I’m Briella! 🐾 I’m a beautiful Rottie/Hound mix with a playful personality and a lot of love to give. Toys are one of my absolute favorite things, and I’m quite the talker when I have something to say! I do wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and would really benefit from having a confident canine friend in my forever home. I’m still working on my socialization and can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but I’m making great progress and warm up quickly once I realize I’m safe. I'm even working with a foster who is also a dog trainer! One place I already feel completely comfortable is my crate — I’m a crate-training superstar and will even go in on my own when I want to relax. Young children are especially scary for me right now, so I’m looking for a home without little ones. Older, dog-savvy kids in their early teens or above may be a good fit. Because I can be nervous and may try to bolt when frightened, my new family will need to be extra careful about keeping me secure. A fenced yard is strongly encouraged and would give me a safe place to build confidence and explore. I’m looking for a patient family who understands that I may need a little time to feel safe. A secure home, plenty of toys, and ideally a doggy sibling to show me the ropes would be just about perfect. Give me a little patience and love, and I’ll show you just how sweet, silly and special I can be. ❤️
