Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Sierra is an absolute sweetheart, she is full of life and energy :) Sierra is obsessed with any toy that squeaks lol. She LOVES playing fetch and roaming her field. She lives in the pooch palace with Tank, they adore each other. :) Everyone who meets sierra falls in love with her and her goofy personality. She really is the biggest love bug and goofball. :))  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
This big beautiful girl cost someone $3500 2 years ago. A year ago she found herself abandoned and living on a chain a couple hundred feet behind the home she used to live inside of. The family she used to be a part of had moved away. Thankfully the property owner had been caring for her until he could find the perfect place for her. She is now safe and comfortable at the Funny Farm and back inside where it’s warm and she gets to play and have people love on her throughout the day. She is 62 pounds of pure love. She loves everyone she meets and is a little submissive. She loves other dogs of all sizes as well. She has a moderate prey drive so cats would probably not be a great idea although we are told she used to live with 2. She absolutely loves toys, especially this giant donut and she loves to go for rides. She does great off leash and has excellent recall. She is the typical Rottie and is a slob with her water and food and has no idea how big she is because she loves to sit in your lap. She knows sit but I believe from living on a chain for a year, she does jump a little but she corrects fairly easy. This girl has tons of potential in an experienced home. She needs lots of exercise and consistent training. If you think you are the perfect match for Zoey you need to start by submitting the adoption application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFRR/Dog Her adoption fee is $325 and if she requires transport from her current foster home near Jackson TN there will be an additional $200 fee. She will be fully vetted before leaving the rescue. You can check her and her adoptable friends out at funnyfarmpets.org and check out her videos on FB at https://www.facebook.com/mcbfunnyfarmrescue?

Story
Meet Dog Vader: Dog Vader is estimated to be about 2 years old (as of February 2026) and what looks like a miniature Rottweiler - potentially rottie / kelpie mix (best guess) that weighs 15 pounds. Dog Vader was a frequent visitor at a park in suburban Memphis and it took a team of park goers and Animal Control Officers to catch him and then he was taken into a dog shelter. Dog Vader is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Dog Vader is very affectionate and loves to be near someone. At the dog shelter, Dog Vader was an unwilling resident in some respects. Dog Vader had a tendency to not want to come back inside from the exercise yard once released for a potty break, but if he had a lap available to climb into, he was happy to come in and snuggle up. Dog Vader gets along well with other dogs and is a great companion. Dog Vader is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need some patience while adjusting to a new method. We would love for Dog Vader to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely. Dog Vader is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adding this long-legged friend into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Tennessee, awaiting transport to PA ##2658179##

Story
Meet Rocket. Rocket came to us with over 100 animals from a cruelty case over 3 years ago. After 1,045 days, we FINALLY gained ownership of them in December of 2024! Merry Christmas to us!! After so long of only having our staff every day, they’re extremely timid. They can be nervous & scared when meeting new people, so a few meetings are required. She has so much love to give, she’s just scared of new things. She has a lot of confidence-building that she needs to work on, and she needs someone who’s willing to work with her and has that patience. We know that there is a special someone out there who has the compassion and understanding of the life she’s lived before coming to us.

Story
Cheesecake is a beautiful, adult female dog who is loyal, protective, and eager to find a loving home. Cheesecake may be a bit hesitant around new people, but give her time and she will warm up to you. She will need a patient owner who can help continue her training and who can give her the structure and routine she desires. Cheesecake would do best in a home with other dogs, as she is very dog-friendly! She needs an owner with previous Rottweiler experience, as well, since she carries the typical Rottie 'tude! In order to meet cheesecake, you must be already preapproved and willing to take the time she needs, she is worth every minute!!
