You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Meet HollyHolly is a 3-year-old Rottweiler with a fun, energetic personality and a love for playtime! This girl is always ready to go, whether it’s chasing a ball or enjoying time outside—fetch is one of her favorite games. Holly is a good dog with a lot of potential, but she will benefit from continued basic training to help her channel her energy in the right direction. She can get a little mouthy during play, which is typical for a playful, high-energy dog, so she would do best in a home without small children. With structure, consistency, and an active owner, Holly is going to make a loyal and entertaining companion. She’s looking for someone who can match her energy and help her become the best version of herself. If you’re ready for a playful, spirited girl who just needs a little guidance, Holly is waiting to meet you.Approx 71 lbs.

Family conflicts made it difficult for her to receive the best care. She hasn't really been socialized to the outside world, so is in need of a special person to help her navigate life and love her and make her the best dog she can be.  Zodi is overweight due to lack of exercise so she will need a diet and exercise plan in her new home. We recommend the adopter be familiar with the breed and able to continue to work with Zodi on socialization and training. Zodi is not good with cats or children, and we are not sure how she is with other dogs as it's been a while since she has been around them.  Since Zodi has been with the same person for most of her life, she is understandably a little protective of that person.  She also can be protective of her food so care should be taken. Zodi is housebroken; will need to be brought up to date on vaccinations and spayed, and skin and ear issues taken care of.    Zodi could be a great dog if given a chance. She has been abandoned by the person who promised  would train her and take care of her. The person who purchased her from the breeder has abandoned her in the care of a family member who is no longer able to care for Zodi due to their own health concerns.  Zodi is being house currently in Hanover PA.If you are interested in adopting Zodi and giving her a great life, please contact:Judy   Judyc6625@gmail.com  or fill out an application at www.reachoutrescue.org   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 5, 2026, 1:27 am

Story
Current Location: Charlestown, WV Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Currently fostered in: Brooklyn Park, MD 💜Meet Blair!💜 Don't let that stoic model face fool you- Blair is the sweetest goofball you'll ever meet! ENERGY AND PERSONALITY Blair is an energetic bundle of fun who loves flirt poles, fetch, tug of war, hikes, etc., and has hilarious zoomies for your entertainment! After the excitement wears off, lounging near her humans with her toys/bones and taking long naps in her humans' bed (and sometimes on her humans!) are Blair's go-to ways to spend the rest of her day. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Blair has a long list of positive behaviors under her belt: 🐾House-trained 🐾Crate-trained 🐾Listens well 🐾VERY food-motivated 🐾Eager to learn and super responsive to training. 🐾Great on car rides 🐾Great on walks 🐾Picks up on new things very fast 🐾Makes human friends wherever she goes Blair is a cutie who enjoys routine, structure, and the occasional adventure! SOCIAL LIFE Blair prefers human company to canine- she absolutely thrives being the only pup and the center of your world. Blair really loves people, but she is still working on practicing good manners when over-excited, so she isn't a candidate to live with young children right now. Blair is dog-selective and will need to be the only dog living in the home, although she has been known to enjoy playtime outdoors with specific dogs after a slow introduction. She really loves cats, but can chase them playfully and pester them to play with her. Blair has a feline best friend in her foster home who hides under the bed with her and helps her steal socks, shoes, and her foster mom's makeup. SPECIAL TRAITS Blair's foster mom can't say enough about her- she's insanely smart, she's silly, she's loyal, and you can feel the love and joy radiating from Blair when she sees you. She melts into a wiggle butt and gives the biggest hug she can. Blair loves getting kisses from her humans and is happy to be included. She looks tough, but truly is just a quirky girl who brings lots of laughs and love to your home. BEST HOME FIT Blair's ideal adopter is someone who is willing to be patient and work with her as she grows into her best self. She could do well in a range of calm home environments that allow her to be the only dog. She is still learning, and will benefit from structure and guidance (and some additional fun training to flex how smart she is!) An adopter who has the patience and dedication to continue training is vital to Blair's thriving! VETERINARY CARE Blair is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and receiving heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives along with routine parasite treatments. If you are someone looking for die-hard loyalty and love, Blair is your partner in crime. She's ready to find the person who is going to spoil her like the princess she is! 💜 Ready to give Blair a chance? We promise you'll have a best friend for life! 💜
