While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. My name is Sparky and I am five years young! I am a Rottie/Min Pin mix. Yep! That's real! I am fixed and up to date on vaccines and weigh around 40 pounds. I found myself at the rescue when my family had to move and sadly, I couldn't go along. I am full of energy and I am looking for an active family that has previous dog experience as I need structure and exercise. I really like being around my people and can get very anxious when left alone. I would need need a family that is home often and can help me with my anxiety. I do get very excited when I know that the volunteers are going to take me for a walk, jumping up and down in anticipation. Strangers and small children make me a bit nervous, but once I get to know you, I will do anything to please! Children 12 and older would be best for me. I will sit and take treats nicely and I will give you my paw if you ask. Not to brag, but I am a very smart guy. I would do best in a home without cats. I could get along with another very mellow dog! Of course I would need to meet them along with the rest of the family first. Sparky is currently in a foster home where he is learning he doesn't need to be anxious when left alone. Meet Raven! Raven came to us when her owners were no longer able to provide for her. Now, Raven is looking for her forever home! Raven loves to play, running outside is her favorite thing to do! This goofy girl could play with stuffies all day if you let her. Since Raven is still a puppy, she does need some basic training. Raven previously lived with small dogs, but she does not seem to enjoy the company of bigger dogs.
