Current Location: Westminster, MD Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Meet Riley With her stunning crystal-blue eyes and infectious smile, Riley is the kind of dog who turns heads everywhere she goes. But it’s her sweet personality that truly steals hearts. Riley’s journey began when she decided to take matters into her own paws. Looking for a fresh start, she wandered into a neighborhood BBQ through an open gate, introduced herself to the guests, and quickly became the life of the party. The delicious smells may have caught her attention, but it was her friendly, affectionate nature that won everyone over. Today, Riley is searching for a forever family of her very own. Riley is a loving, social girl who enjoys spending time with her people. She walks beautifully on a leash and is always ready for an adventure, whether that’s a stroll around the neighborhood or a trip to your favorite park. After a day of exploring, she’s happy to curl up beside you for snuggles and relaxation. Despite her athletic build, Riley is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She loves attention, enjoys making new friends, and has a happy-go-lucky personality that brightens every room she enters. Her unforgettable blue eyes may be what first catches your attention, but her loyal, loving nature is what will make you fall in love. Riley is ready to leave her wandering days behind and become someone’s cherished family member. All she needs now is a family to call her own. Adoption Fee: $350 Transport Fee: $200-$250 Health Certificate: $50-$100 Microchip Registration: $13 If you’re looking for a best friend who will keep you smiling every day, Riley is waiting to meet you. ##2762958##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Gerald! His story began with heartbreak, but we`re hoping it ends with the loving family he has always deserved. This sweet boy was found abandoned alongside his two female canine companions. All three dogs were underweight when they arrived at the shelter, making it clear they hadn`t received the care they needed for quite some time. Despite everything he`s been through, Gerald has remained incredibly kind, gentle, and trusting.Because Gerald came to us as a stray, we don`t know much about his life before arriving at the shelter. Since coming into our care, we introduced him to another male dog during a structured meet and greet, and the interaction was not successful. It`s possible Gerald is only comfortable with the female dogs he arrived with or that he may not do well with other male dogs. For this reason, we recommend he be the only dog in the home or that any potential canine companions be carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis. His history with cats is unknown.Gerald is calm and has an easygoing personality. He enjoys being close to his people and welcomes gentle affection, especially from those who let him approach at his own pace. His sweet nature shines through in every interaction, and he has handled shelter life with remarkable resilience. Now that he`s gaining weight and receiving the love and care he deserves, Gerald is ready for the next chapter of his life—a home where he`ll never have to wonder where his next meal is coming from or whether he`ll be left behind again. If you`re looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Gerald may be the perfect match. He deserves a family that will show him what forever truly means. If you are interested in meeting Gerald, please visit the shelter during open adoption hours:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–4 PMThursday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–6:30 PMSaturday: 9 AM–1 PMIf you do not own your home, please bring written consent from the property owner allowing a dog on the property. If you have another dog at home, please plan to bring them for a meet-and-greet before completing the adoption.Adoption fees:6 months and younger: $2507 months–5 years: $2006–10 years: $15011 years and older: $100Watch for adoption specials! If you are a rescue partner interested in pulling Gerald or interested in fostering, please email ksprecher@carrollcountymd.gov.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Peppa-Peppa came to us after being dumped in very rough shape along with several of her dog siblings, and despite such a difficult start she has been getting better every single day. When Peppa is in a calm space she blossoms; she prefers to approach new people at her own pace and does wonderfully when interactions are slow and soft. She enjoys toys, and is responsive to commands. Peppa is a genuinely a sweet girl who is learning to trust more each day; with her gentle nature and desire to connect, she is ready for a patient, loving home. Because of her fearful and unsure moments, she would do best in a home without younger children and with someone who can offer a quiet environment, understanding, and the steady reassurance she’s never truly had until now. If you are interested in meeting Peppa, please visit the shelter during open adoption hours:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–4 PMThursday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–6:30 PMSaturday: 9 AM–1 PMIf you do not own your home, please bring written consent from the property owner allowing a dog on the property. Family conflicts made it difficult for her to receive the best care. She hasn't really been socialized to the outside world, so is in need of a special person to help her navigate life and love her and make her the best dog she can be.  Zodi is overweight due to lack of exercise so she will need a diet and exercise plan in her new home. We recommend the adopter be familiar with the breed and able to continue to work with Zodi on socialization and training. Zodi is not good with cats or children, and we are not sure how she is with other dogs as it's been a while since she has been around them.  Since Zodi has been with the same person for most of her life, she is understandably a little protective of that person.  She also can be protective of her food so care should be taken. Zodi is housebroken; will need to be brought up to date on vaccinations and spayed, and skin and ear issues taken care of.    Zodi could be a great dog if given a chance. She has been abandoned by the person who promised  would train her and take care of her. The person who purchased her from the breeder has abandoned her in the care of a family member who is no longer able to care for Zodi due to their own health concerns.  Zodi is being house currently in Hanover PA.If you are interested in adopting Zodi and giving her a great life, please contact:Judy   Judyc6625@gmail.com  or fill out an application at www.reachoutrescue.org   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 10, 2026, 9:35 pm
